How to use these papers

Start with a recent Paper 2 rather than Paper 1: the structured questions show you where your understanding actually stops, while a multiple-choice paper can hide a gap behind a lucky guess. Work it in one sitting, closed-book, and only then open the mark scheme.

Mark the practical papers against the scheme yourself, question by question. They are the components students most often skip in revision and the ones where the scheme is most specific — uncertainty treatment, graph scales, the reason a particular control matters. Reading the scheme for Papers 3 and 5 teaches more than working the paper twice does.

When you get a question wrong, sort it into one of three piles: I did not know the physics, I knew it but set it up wrong, or I set it up right and made an algebra slip. The three need completely different fixes, and treating them all as "revise the topic" is why the same marks keep going missing.
