    动词 + 得 + 倒 + 形容词 — 倒 yang menegur

    English

Tucked inside a complement, 倒 turns the comment sour — "easy for you to say." It implies the opposite of reality and is aimed mostly at the listener, with 说 / 想.

    Structure: Subject + Verb + 得 + 倒 + Adjective

    saying it说shuō得deeasy enough倒dào容易róng yìthen,那nàyou你nǐdo it来lái!

Easy for you to say — you do it then!

    you你nǐwish想xiǎng得denicely倒dào美měidon't!不bùwork工作gōng zuòyet还háiwant想xiǎngto be paid拿ná工资gōng zī?

You wish! Get paid without working?

Remember: 得 + 倒 = a sarcastic jab — "说得倒容易" = "easy enough for you to say." Reach for it to push back at the other person's 说 / 想. (你想得倒美!= "you wish!")

    Watch out

    • This 倒 (dào, "but / contrary") rebukes; don't confuse it with 倒 (dǎo, "fall over").
    Bahasa Indonesia

Ditempatkan di dalam pelengkap, 倒 mengubah komentar menjadi ** pahit** — "mudah bagi kamu untuk bilang." Ini menyiratkan lawan dari kenyataan dan terutama ditujukan kepada pendengar, dengan 说 / 想.

    Struktur: Subject + Verb + 得 + 倒 + Adjective

    saying it说shuō得deeasy enough倒dào容易róng yìthen,那nàyou你nǐdo it来lái!

Mudah bagi kamu untuk bilang — lakukan saja!

    you你nǐwish想xiǎng得denicely倒dào美měidon't!不bùwork工作gōng zuòyet还háiwant想xiǎngto be paid拿ná工资gōng zī?

Kamu bercanda! Diberi bayaran tanpa bekerja?

Ingat: 得 + 倒 = sapuan sarkastis — "说得倒 mudah" = "cukup mudah bagimu untuk bilang." Gunakan ini untuk membalas ucapan 说 / 想 orang lain. (你想得倒美!= "kamu bercanda!")

    Hati-hati

    • 倒 ini (dào, "tetapi / sebaliknya") menegur; jangan bingung dengan 倒 (dǎo, "jatuh / terkapar").
    1.2

很是 + 形容词 — "sangat, cukup" (sastra)

    English

很是 is a dressed-up 很 — the same "very," but with a formal, literary flavour you'll meet in writing rather than everyday speech. The extra 是 makes the emphasis feel weightier.

Structure: Subject + 很是 + Adjective

your你nǐ的deperformance表现biǎo xiànmade让ràngthe boss领导lǐng dǎovery很是hěn shìpleased满意mǎn yì。

Your performance pleased the boss greatly.

doing it this way这样zhè yàng做zuòquite很是hěn shìnecessary必要bì yào。

Doing it this way is quite necessary.

Remember: 很是 = 很 in its Sunday best — a written, weightier "very," pairing with two-syllable adjectives (很是满意, 很是高兴). If it sounds too formal to say out loud, that's exactly the right feel.

    Watch out

    • Keep it for writing — in speech, plain 很 / 非常 is natural.
    Bahasa Indonesia

很是 adalah versi rapi 很 — makna "sangat" yang sama, tetapi dengan nuansa formal dan sastra yang akan Anda temui dalam tulisan daripada percakapan sehari-hari. Tambahan 是 membuat penekanan terasa lebih berat.

Struktur: Subject + 很是 + Adjective

your你nǐ的deperformance表现biǎo xiànmade让ràngthe boss领导lǐng dǎovery很是hěn shìpleased满意mǎn yì。

    Prestasimu sangat menyenangkan bos.

doing it this way这样zhè yàng做zuòquite很是hěn shìnecessary必要bì yào。

    English

足足 stresses that an amount is fully that much — "a full, all of, every bit of." It always pairs with a number, often with 有 or 等.

Structure: 足足 + Verb (+ Number) · Verb + 足足

I我wǒwaited等děng了lefor her她tāa full足足zú zútwo两个liǎng gehours小时xiǎo shí。

I waited a full two hours for her.

he他tāin在zàiChina中国Zhōng guólived住zhù了leall of足足zú zúten years十年shí nián。

He lived in China for all of ten years.

Remember: 足足 = "a FULL, every bit of" (足 = "enough / full") — it always rides a number and underlines that the amount is large: 足足两个小时 ("a whole two hours"), 足足十年 ("all of ten years").

    Watch out

    • It needs a quantity — 足足 with no number to amplify is incomplete.
    Bahasa Indonesia

足足 menekankan bahwa jumlah itu penuh sebesar itu — "penuh, seluruhnya, setiap bagian." Selalu dipasangkan dengan angka, sering dengan 有 atau 等.

Struktur: 足足 + Verb (+ Number) · Verb + 足足

I我wǒwaited等děng了lefor her她tāa full足足zú zútwo两个liǎng gehours小时xiǎo shí。

Saya menunggu selama dua jam penuh untuknya.

he他tāin在zàiChina中国Zhōng guólived住zhù了leall of足足zú zúten years十年shí nián。

Dia tinggal di Tiongkok selama sepuluh tahun penuh.

Ingat: 足足 = "PENUH, setiap bagiannya" (足 = "cukup / penuh") — selalu menempel pada angka dan menegaskan bahwa jumlahnya besar: dua jam penuh ("seluruh dua jam"), sepuluh tahun penuh ("seluruh sepuluh tahun").

    Hati-hati

    • Memerlukan kuantitas — 足足 tanpa angka yang diperkuat terasa tidak lengkap.
    1.4

一再 + 动词 — "lagi dan lagi, berulang kali"

    English

一再 means doing something insistently, again and again — "repeatedly, time and again." It precedes a two-syllable verb (often of speech or request), and can take 地.

Structure: Subject + 一再 + Verb

I我wǒagain and again一再yí zài跟gēnyou你nǐtold说shuōout and about,出门chū ménto be要yàocareful小心xiǎo xīn。

I've told you again and again to be careful when you're out.

the teacher老师lǎo shīrepeatedly一再yí zàistressed强调qiáng diàothis这zhèpoint一点yì diǎn。

The teacher stressed this point over and over.

Remember: 一再 = "time and again, insistently" — formal, with two-syllable verbs of speech/thought (一再强调, 一再请求, 一再解释). It's the close cousin of 再三.

    Watch out

    • Reserve it for repeated deliberate acts — not a plain "often" (that's 常常).
    Bahasa Indonesia

一再 berarti melakukan sesuatu secara gigih, lagi dan lagi — "berulang kali, berkali-kali." Mendahului verba dua suku kata (sering tentang bicara atau permintaan), dan dapat mengambil 地.

Struktur: Subject + 一再 + Verb

I我wǒagain and again一再yí zài跟gēnyou你nǐtold说shuōout and about,出门chū ménto be要yàocareful小心xiǎo xīn。

Sudah berkali-kali kukatakan padamu untuk berhati-hati saat keluar.

the teacher老师lǎo shīrepeatedly一再yí zàistressed强调qiáng diàothis这zhèpoint一点yì diǎn。

Guru itu menekankan poin ini berkali-kali.

Ingat: 一再 = "kembali dan kembali, gigih" — formal, dengan verba dua suku kata tentang bicara/pemikiran (menegaskan berkali-kali, meminta berkali-kali, menjelaskan berkali-kali). Ini adalah kerabat dekat 再三.

    Hati-hati

    • Cadangkan untuk tindakan sengaja yang berulang — bukan sekadar "sering" (itu 常常).
    1.5

    凡是 + 名词 + 都 / 就 / 一律 — "semua, setiap (tanpa pengecualian)"

    English

凡是 sweeps over every member of a category — "any, every, whoever / whatever" (= 只要是). It opens the sentence and pairs with 都 / 就 / 一律.

    Structure: 凡是 + Noun + 都 / 就 / 一律 + Predicate

    all凡是fán shìmembers会员huì yuán都dōuget有yǒua discount折扣zhé kòu。

    All members get a discount.

    any凡是fán shì不bùdisobedient听话tīng huà的dechild孩子hái zi都dōugets no没méisweets糖táng吃chī。

Any child who misbehaves gets no sweets.

Remember: 凡是 = "any and every, without exception" (= 只要是) — it states a blanket rule and pairs with 都 / 就 / 一律 to nail it down (凡是会员都…). Use it to leave no member out.

    Watch out

    • It needs the 都 / 就 / 一律 downstream to complete the "every" sweep.
    Bahasa Indonesia

凡是 melingkupi setiap anggota kategori — "apapun, setiap, siapa pun / apa pun" (= 只要是). Membuka kalimat dan dipasangkan dengan 都 / 就 / 一律.

    Struktur: 凡是 + Noun + 都 / 就 / 一律 + Predicate

    all凡是fán shìmembers会员huì yuán都dōuget有yǒua discount折扣zhé kòu。

    Semua anggota mendapat diskon.

    any凡是fán shì不bùdisobedient听话tīng huà的dechild孩子hái zi都dōugets no没méisweets糖táng吃chī。

Anak mana pun yang berperilaku buruk tidak mendapat permen.

Ingat: 凡是 = "apapun dan setiap, tanpa pengecualian" (= 只要是) — menyatakan aturan menyeluruh dan dipasangkan dengan 都 / 就 / 一律 untuk mengukuhnya (semua anggota...). Gunakan untuk tidak meninggalkan satupun anggota.

    Hati-hati

    • Memerlukan 都 / 就 / 一律 di bawahnya untuk melengkapi jangkauan "setiap".
    1.6

    向来(都) + 动词 — "selalu, sepanjang masa"

    English

向来 describes a long-standing habit or trait — "always, has always, all along." It's very close to 一向.

    Structure: Subject + 向来(都) + Verb / Adjective

    he他tāhas always向来xiàng lái都dōuvery很hěnpunctual守时shǒu shí。

    He's always been punctual.

    I我wǒhave never向来xiàng lái不bùliked喜欢xǐ huanordering点diǎntakeaway外卖wài mài。

    I've never liked ordering takeaway.

Remember: 向来 = a settled, unchanging pattern over time ("has always been this way") — interchangeable with 一向 (further down this file). It looks back over the long run.

    Watch out

    • It's for long-held traits — not a one-off recent stretch (that's 一直).
    Bahasa Indonesia

向来 menggambarkan kebiasaan atau sifat yang berlangsung lama — "selalu, selalu, sepanjang masa." Sangat mirip dengan 一向.

    Struktur: Subject + 向来(都) + Verb / Adjective

    he他tāhas always向来xiàng lái都dōuvery很hěnpunctual守时shǒu shí。

    Dia selalu tepat waktu.

    I我wǒhave never向来xiàng lái不bùliked喜欢xǐ huanordering点diǎntakeaway外卖wài mài。

Saya tidak pernah suka memesan makanan take away.

Ingat: 向来 = pola yang tetap dan tidak berubah seiring waktu ("selalu seperti ini") — dapat digunakan menggantikan 一向 (di bawah dalam file ini). Kata ini merujuk ke masa lalu yang panjang.

    Hati-hati

    • Ini digunakan untuk sifat yang sudah lama melekat — bukan untuk rentang waktu baru-baru ini saja (itu adalah fungsi 一直).
    1.7

果然 — "pasti benar, sesuai ekspektasi"

    English

果然 confirms a prediction came true — "sure enough, just as expected." It's the opposite of 竟然 / 居然 ("unexpectedly").

Structure: Subject + 果然 + Predicate · 果然如此 / 果然不出所料

first place第一名dì yī míngsure enough果然guǒ ránis是shìher她tāI!我wǒ就jiùknew it知道zhī dào。

First place is her, sure enough — I knew it!

the forecast天气预报tiān qì yù bàosaid说shuōrain下雨xià yǔand so it did,果然如此guǒ rán rú cǐ。

The forecast said rain, and sure enough it did.

Remember: 果然 = "sure enough, just as I foresaw" — it confirms a prediction (果然如此, "just so"). It's the mirror image of 竟然 / 居然 ("and yet, unexpectedly"): foreseen vs surprising.

    Watch out

    • If the outcome surprised you, you want 竟然 / 居然, not 果然.
    Bahasa Indonesia

果然 mengonfirmasi bahwa prediksi terbukti benar — "pasti benar, persis seperti yang diperkirakan." Lawannya adalah 竟然 / 居然 ("secara tidak terduga").

Struktur: Subject + 果然 + Predicate · 果然如此 / 果然不出所料

first place第一名dì yī míngsure enough果然guǒ ránis是shìher她tāI!我wǒ就jiùknew it知道zhī dào。

Pemenangnya dia, pasti benar — saya tahu itu!

the forecast天气预报tiān qì yù bàosaid说shuōrain下雨xià yǔand so it did,果然如此guǒ rán rú cǐ。

    1.8

    似乎 — "tampaknya, seolah-olah"

    English

似乎 hedges toward an impression — "it seems, apparently, as if." It's a formal cousin of 好像, used for an uncertain judgement, or to flag "seems X but actually Y."

    Structure: Subject + 似乎 ……

the boss老板lǎo bǎntoday今天jīn tiānseems似乎sì hūnot very不太bú tàihappy高兴gāo xìng。

The boss seems a little upset today.

she她tāseems to be似乎sì hūhiding隐瞒yǐn mán了lesomething什么shén me。

She seems to be hiding something.

Remember: 似乎 = the formal 好像 ("it seems, as if") — a hedged, uncertain impression. It can quietly set up "似乎…其实…" ("seems so, but actually…").

    Watch out

    • It's writing-leaning — in casual speech 好像 is the natural choice.
    Bahasa Indonesia

似乎 menyiratkan sebuah kesan — "tampaknya, apparently, seolah-olah." Ini adalah bentuk formal dari 好像, digunakan untuk penilaian yang belum pasti, atau untuk menandai "tampak X tetapi sebenarnya Y."

    Struktur: Subject + 似乎 ……

the boss老板lǎo bǎntoday今天jīn tiānseems似乎sì hūnot very不太bú tàihappy高兴gāo xìng。

Bos tampak sedikit kesal hari ini.

she她tāseems to be似乎sì hūhiding隐瞒yǐn mán了lesomething什么shén me。

    Dia tampaknya sedang menyembunyikan sesuatu.

Ingat: 似乎 = bentuk formal dari 好像 ("tampaknya, seolah-olah") — sebuah kesan yang masih dipertahankan keragu-raguannya. Kata ini dapat diam-diam mempersiapkan struktur "似乎…其实…" ("tampak begitu, tetapi sebenarnya…").

    Hati-hati

    • Lebih condong ke arah tulisan — dalam percakapan kasual, 好像 adalah pilihan yang lebih natural.
    1.9

偏偏 — "berlawanan dengan ekspektasi, justru hal tersebut"

    English

偏偏 marks a frustrating clash with what was required or hoped — "of all things, just had to." It can also mean "only … (annoyingly)," singling out the one exception.

    Structure: A ,Subject + 偏偏 + B

we told him not to不bù叫jiào他tāgo去qùhe,他tāof all things偏偏piān piāninsisted on要yàogoing去qù。

We told him not to go, and of course he insisted.

everyone else别人bié rén都dōuearly早zǎoarrived到dào了leonly,偏偏piān piānhe他tāalone一个人yí ge rénwas late迟到chí dào。

Everyone else was early — only he was late.

Remember: 偏偏 = a frustrated "of all things / just HAD to" — things go against what you wanted (叫他别去,他偏偏要去, "told him not to, and of course he insisted"). It can also single out the one annoying exception ("only he…").

    Watch out

    • It always carries annoyance — things deliberately not going your way.
    Bahasa Indonesia

偏偏 menandai benturan yang menjengkelkan dengan apa yang diperlukan atau diharapkan — "justru haruslah hal itu." Kata ini juga bisa berarti "hanya … (mengganggu)," menonjolkan satu-satunya pengecualian.

    Struktur: A ,Subject + 偏偏 + B

we told him not to不bù叫jiào他tāgo去qùhe,他tāof all things偏偏piān piāninsisted on要yàogoing去qù。

    Hati-hati

    • Selalu membawa nuansa kesal — segala sesuatu sengaja tidak berjalan sesuai keinginan Anda.
    1.10

    再不 …… ,也 …… — "bahkan yang paling …, tetap"

    English

Here 再不 … 也 … concedes an extreme — "however un-… one is, still …." It grants the unfavourable case and overrides it (≈ 即使不…也…).

    Structure: 再不 + Adjective ,也 + Result

    however un-再不zài bùfond喜欢xǐ huanyou,你nǐstill也yěhave to得děigo去qùonce一趟yí tàng。

However little you like it, you still have to go.

    even if not再不zài bùhungry饿èstill,也yěeat吃chīa little点diǎn吧ba。

Even if you're not hungry, eat a bit.

Remember: 再不 X 也 Y = "however un-X, still Y" — it grants even the unfavourable extreme and holds the result firm (再不喜欢也得去, "however little you like it, you still have to go"). ≈ 即使不…也….

    Watch out

    • This 再不 ("however not…") differs from the warning 再不…就…了 ("if not now, then…!") in HSK 5.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Di sini 再不 … 也 … memberikan pengakuan pada kasus ekstrem — "betapa pun tidak-… seseorang, tetap …." Frasa ini mengakui kasus yang tidak menguntungkan namun tetap memaksakan hasil (≈ 即使不…也…).

    Struktur: 再不 + Adjective ,也 + Result

    however un-再不zài bùfond喜欢xǐ huanyou,你nǐstill也yěhave to得děigo去qùonce一趟yí tàng。

Betapa pun Anda tidak menyukainya, Anda tetap harus pergi.

    even if not再不zài bùhungry饿èstill,也yěeat吃chīa little点diǎn吧ba。

Meskipun Anda tidak lapar, makanlah sedikit.

Ingat: 再不 X 也 Y = "betapa pun tidak-X, tetap Y" — frasa ini mengakui bahkan ekstrem yang tidak menguntungkan dan mempertahankan hasilnya (再不喜欢也得去, "betapa pun Anda tidak menyukainya, Anda tetap harus pergi"). ≈ 即使不…也….

    Hati-hati

    • 再不 ini ("betapa pun tidak…") berbeda dengan peringatan 再不…就…了 ("jika tidak sekarang, maka…!") dalam HSK 5.
    1.11

一律 — "secara seragam, tanpa pengecualian"

    English

一律 means a rule applies to all alike — "uniformly, across the board, without exception." It's written / official, often pairs with 都, and is mostly for people.

    Structure: 一律 (+ 都) + Verb / Adjective

tomorrow's明天míng tiān的demeeting会议huì yìwithout exception一律yí lǜ都dōumust要yàoattend参加cān jiā。

    Everyone must attend tomorrow's meeting.

over-seventies七十岁qī shí suì以上yǐ shàngriding坐zuòthe bus公交gōng jiāoall一律yí lǜfree免费miǎn fèi。

Over-70s ride the bus free, no exceptions.

Remember: 一律 = "one treatment for ALL, across the board" — official/written, often with 都 (一律免费, "free for everyone, no exceptions"). Picture a single rule stamped on every case alike.

    Watch out

    • It's for uniform treatment, mostly of people — heavier and more official than a plain 都.
    Bahasa Indonesia

一律 berarti aturan berlaku kepada semua sama rata — "secara seragam, mencakup seluruh, tanpa pengecualian." Kata ini bersifat tertulis/resmi, sering berpasangan dengan 都, dan sebagian besar digunakan untuk manusia.

    Struktur: 一律 (+ 都) + Verb / Adjective

tomorrow's明天míng tiān的demeeting会议huì yìwithout exception一律yí lǜ都dōumust要yàoattend参加cān jiā。

Semua orang wajib menghadiri rapat besok.

    1.12

    无非(是) — "hanya, semata-mata"

    English

无非 plays a matter down to its essentials — "nothing more than, merely, only." It often ends with 罢了 or 而已. The 是 is optional with a verb, but required with a noun.

    Structure: 无非 + (是) + Verb / Noun (+ 罢了 / 而已)

I我wǒonly无非wú fēitold off批评pī píng了lehim他tāa bit几句jǐ jùhe,他tāwhy怎么zěn mecrying哭kū了le?

I only told him off a little — why's he crying?

the child孩子hái ziwants想xiǎng得到dé dào的deis nothing but无非wú fēi是shìyour你nǐ的deattention关心guān xīn罢了bà le。

All the child wants is your attention, nothing more.

Remember: 无非 = "nothing more than, merely" — it strips a thing to its plain core, often capped with 罢了 / 而已 ("…that's all"). The 是 is optional before a verb, but required before a noun (无非是个误会).

    Watch out

    • It deflates ("it's only…") — don't use it where you mean to emphasise.
    Bahasa Indonesia

无非 menurunkan pentingnya suatu masalah hingga inti dasarnya — "tidak lebih dari, hanyalah, semata-mata." Kata ini sering diakhiri dengan 罢了 atau 而已. Penambahan 是 opsional sebelum kata kerja, tetapi wajib sebelum kata benda.

    Struktur: 无非 + (是) + Verb / Noun (+ 罢了 / 而已)

I我wǒonly无非wú fēitold off批评pī píng了lehim他tāa bit几句jǐ jùhe,他tāwhy怎么zěn mecrying哭kū了le?

Saya hanya memarahinya sedikit — kenapa dia menangis?

the child孩子hái ziwants想xiǎng得到dé dào的deis nothing but无非wú fēi是shìyour你nǐ的deattention关心guān xīn罢了bà le。

Yang diinginkan anak itu hanyalah perhatianmu, tidak lebih dari itu.

Ingat: 无非 = "tidak lebih dari, semata-mata" — kata ini mengurangi intensitas sesuatu hingga inti murninya, sering diakhiri dengan 罢了 / 而已 ("…itu saja"). Penambahan 是 opsional sebelum kata kerja, tetapi wajib sebelum kata benda (无非是个误会).

    Hati-hati

    • Mengurangi importance ("hanya… saja") — jangan gunakan di tempat di mana Anda bermaksud untuk menekankan.
    1.13

    一向 — "selalu, sepanjang masa"

    English

一向 marks a consistent, long-held habit or attitude — "always, all along." The feeling is "it's always been this way."

Structure: Subject + 一向 + Habit / Attitude

Xiao Wang小王Xiǎo Wánghas always一向yí xiàngcome to work上班shàng bānvery很hěnearly早zǎothis time,这次zhè cìwhat's怎么zěn mewrong了le?

Xiao Wang's always early to work — what happened this time?

mum妈妈mā mahas always一向yí xiàngbacked支持zhī chímy我wǒ的dedecisions决定jué dìng。

Mum has always backed my decisions.

Remember: 一向 = "it's always been this way" — a settled disposition over the long run. It's the twin of 向来 (earlier in this file); both look back over a long, unbroken habit.

    Watch out

    • For one recent unbroken stretch ("the whole time lately"), use 一直, not 一向.
    Bahasa Indonesia

一向 menandai kebiasaan atau sikap yang konsisten dan sudah lama melekat — "selalu, sepanjang masa." Rasanya adalah "selalu seperti ini.".

Struktur: Subject + 一向 + Habit / Attitude

Xiao Wang小王Xiǎo Wánghas always一向yí xiàngcome to work上班shàng bānvery很hěnearly早zǎothis time,这次zhè cìwhat's怎么zěn mewrong了le?

Xiao Wang selalu datang lebih awal bekerja — apa yang terjadi kali ini?

mum妈妈mā mahas always一向yí xiàngbacked支持zhī chímy我wǒ的dedecisions决定jué dìng。

    Ibu selalu mendukung keputusanku.

Ingat: 一向 = "selalu seperti ini" — kecenderungan yang tetap dalam jangka panjang. Ini adalah kembar dari 向来 (sebelumnya dalam file ini); keduanya merujuk kembali ke kebiasaan yang panjang dan terus-menerus.

    Hati-hati

    • Untuk satu rentang waktu baru-baru ini yang terus-menerus ("selama ini sejak lama"), gunakan 一直, bukan 一向.
    1.14

    到时候 — "ketika waktunya tiba"

    English

到时候 points to a future moment when something will apply — "when the time comes, by then."

    Structure: …… ,到时候 + ……

now现在xiàn zàiif you don't不bùproperly好好hǎo hǎoprepare准备zhǔn bèiwhen the time comes,到时候dào shí housurely肯定kěn dìngdo badly考不好kǎo bu hǎo。

If you don't prepare now, you'll do badly when the time comes.

    you你nǐfirst先xiānyourself自己zì jǐtry试试shì shithen,到时候dào shí houI我wǒ再zàiteach教jiāoyou你nǐ。

Try it yourself first; I'll teach you when the time comes.

Remember: 到时候 = "when the time comes, by then" — it points ahead to a future moment. Handy set phrases: 到时候见 ("see you then"), 到时候看吧 ("we'll see then").

    Watch out

    • It looks forward — don't use it for "at that (past) time," which is 那时候.
    Bahasa Indonesia

到时候 menunjuk pada momen di masa depan ketika sesuatu akan berlaku — "ketika waktunya tiba, pada saat itu.".

    Watch out

    • It's rhetorical — don't expect (or give) a literal yes/no.
    Bahasa Indonesia

    Bahasa Indonesia

Remember: 谅 = a daring "I bet you wouldn't…" — a confident challenge, leaning on 也 + 不 / 没 (谅他也不敢, "bet he wouldn't dare"). The speaker is usually 我, sizing up the other person.

    Watch out

    • It's spoken and a touch confrontational — it almost always carries the 不/没 + 也, not a plain positive.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Dalam bahasa Mandarin lisan, 谅 menyatakan sebuah taruhan yang percaya diri dan sedikit menantang — "saya bertaruh …, saya yakin …, kamu tidak keberanian." Pembicara sedang menantang orang lain, jadi hampir selalu disertai dengan 不 / 没 plus 也, dan pembicaranya biasanya 我.

    Struktur: 谅 + Subject + 也 + 不 / 没 + Verb Phrase

不屑 means thinking an action is beneath one's dignity — "disdain to, won't lower oneself to, can't be bothered with." There's clear contempt in it: the subject looks down on doing the thing. You can say 不屑 or, more literary, 不屑于.

    Watch out

    • It carries contempt — the subject feels the action is below them, not merely declines it.
    Bahasa Indonesia

不屑 berarti menganggap suatu tindakan di bawah martabatnya — "meremehkan melakukan, tidak mau merendahkan diri, tidak mau repot-repot." Ada rasa penghinaan yang jelas di dalamnya: subjek memandang rendah melakukan hal tersebut. Anda bisa mengatakan 不屑 atau, lebih sastra, 不屑于.

he他tāis above不屑于bú xiè yúsaying说shuōother people's别人bié rén的debad things坏话huài huà。

Dia berada di atas membicarakan orang lain secara buruk.

Ingat: 不屑 = "itu di bawah level saya" — meremehkan melakukannya (屑 = "layak untuk dipikirkan", jadi 不屑 = "tidak layak untuk repot-repot"). 不屑说谎 = "tidak akan merendahkan diri untuk berbohong." 不屑于 adalah varian yang lebih sastra.

Remember: 假使 = a formal/written "if, supposing" (假 = "suppose") — same meaning as 如果 / 假如 / 倘若, just dressier; the result takes 就 / 便. Climb the register ladder: 要是 (casual) → 如果 → 假如 → 假使 / 倘若 (literary).

    Watch out

    Bahasa Indonesia

假使 adalah kata formal dan tulis untuk "jika, seandainya, jika terjadi bahwa." Ia membuka kondisi hipotetis, dan klausa hasil biasanya membawa 就 (atau 便). Ini adalah saudara dekat dari 如果 / 假如 / 倘若 — perbedaannya adalah tingkat bahasa, bukan makna.

    Struktur: 假使 + Condition ,(就 / 便) + Result

    Watch out

    所 + Verb + 的 — struktur sastra 所

    English

The 所 + Verb + 的 frame turns a verb into a formal noun phrase — "that which is …ed, what (one) …s." It names the object of the action in a measured, written tone. Dropping it (我想说的) means the same thing more plainly.

    Structure: (Subject +) 所 + Verb + 的 (+ Noun)

Remember: 所 + verb + 的 = "that which is …ed" — a formal dressing-up. 我所想说的 = 我想说的 ("what I want to say"), just more literary. 所 flags the verb's object, so the verb is transitive.

    Watch out

    • It adds formality, not meaning — the plain 我想说的 says the same thing in speech.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Bingkai 所 + Verb + 的 mengubah kata kerja menjadi frasa kata benda formal — "yang …ed, apa (seseorang) …s." Ini menamai objek dari tindakan dengan nada yang terukur dan tertulis. Melepaskannya (我想说的) berarti hal yang sama tetapi lebih sederhana.

    Struktur: (Subject +) 所 + Verb + 的 (+ Noun)

    • It runs small → big (like 更不用说): A the lesser case, B the greater — don't flip them.
    Bahasa Indonesia

何况 berarti "apalagi, jauh lebih lagi, semakin jelas." Ia berpasangan dengan klausa 连 … 都(也) …: pertama-tama Anda menyatakan kasus ekstrem (bahkan A benar), lalu 何况 mendorong ke kasus yang semakin jelas (jadi tentu saja B). Ini sering kali pertanyaan retoris, ditutup dengan 呢; menambahkan 更 / 又 sebelum 何况 memperjelasnya.

    Struktur: Subject + 连 + A + 都(也) + Verb ,(更)何况 + B + 呢?

even连liánadults大人dà rén都dōufind it觉得jué dehard难nánlet alone,何况hé kuàngchildren孩子hái zi呢ne?

Uang sedikit ini bahkan tidak cukup untuk makan, apalagi membeli rumah.

Ingat: 连 A 都…,(更)何况 B 呢? = "bahkan A…, APALAGI B!" — ia naik dari kasus kuat ke kasus yang lebih kuat lagi (何况 = "betapa lebih lagi"). Biasanya retoris, disegel dengan 呢; 更 / 又 sebelum 何况 menambah kekuatan.

    Hati-hati

    • Urutannya kecil → besar (seperti 更不用说): A kasus yang lebih ringan, B kasus yang lebih berat — jangan dibalik.

按照 vs. 根据 — "sesuai dengan" vs. "berdasarkan"

    English

Both mean "according to," but they look at different things. 按照 means following a rule, plan, order or standard to the letter — "in accordance with." 根据 means drawing on evidence, grounds or a source — "on the basis of, going by"; it can also be a noun (有根据 = "well-grounded"), which 按照 cannot.

    Structure: 按照 + rule / plan + Action · 根据 + evidence / source + Conclusion

Going by the forecast, it'll rain tomorrow.

Remember: 按照 = follow a RULE/plan ("by the book"); 根据 = reason from EVIDENCE ("going by the data"). 按照规定 (per the rules) vs 根据预报 (per the forecast). Only 根据 doubles as a noun (毫无根据, "groundless").

    Watch out

    • A rule to obey → 按照; grounds to infer from → 根据.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya berarti "menurut," tetapi melihat hal berbeda. 按照 berarti mengikuti aturan, rencana, perintah atau standar secara ketat — "sesuai dengan." 根据 berarti menarik dari bukti, dasar, atau sumber — "berdasarkan, mengacu pada"; ini juga bisa berupa kata benda (有根据 = "berdasar kuat"), yang tidak bisa dilakukan 按照.

    Struktur: 按照 + rule / plan + Action · 根据 + evidence / source + Conclusion

please请qǐngin accordance with按照àn zhàothe rules规定guī dìngqueue up排队pái duì。

不得不 vs. 只好 — "tidak punya pilihan" vs. "tidak punya pilihan lain yang lebih baik"

    English

Both say you're forced into something unwanted, but the squeeze differs. 不得不 = there is no other choice at all — you simply can't avoid it (stronger, like 不得已). 只好 = there is no better choice — you settle for the least-bad option. Also, 不得不 must be followed by a positive verb; 只好 can take 不 / 没.

    Structure: 不得不 + positive Verb · 只好 + Verb (可带 不 / 没)

going out出门chū ménwithout没méibringing带dàimoney钱qiánI had no choice but to,不得不bù dé bùfrom向xiànga friend朋友péng youborrow借jiè。

I went out without money, so I had no choice but to borrow from a friend.

outside外面wài mianit's下xiàpouring大雨dà yǔ了leI,我wǒhad no better option than to只好zhǐ hǎonot不bùgo out出去chū qù了le。

It's pouring outside, so I'll just not go out.

Remember: 不得不 = NO OTHER choice (forced, no escape); 只好 = NO BETTER choice (settle for least-bad). And the grammar tell: 不得不 takes only a positive verb, while 只好 can take 不 / 没 (只好不去).

    Watch out

    • You can't say 不得不不去 — for "had to not do," use 只好不去.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya mengatakan Anda dipaksa melakukan sesuatu yang tidak diinginkan, tetapi tekanannya berbeda. 不得不 = tidak ada pilihan lain sama sekali — Anda memang tidak bisa menghindarinya (lebih kuat, seperti 不得已). 只好 = tidak ada pilihan lain yang lebih baik — Anda pasrah dengan opsi yang paling kurang buruk. Selain itu, 不得不 harus diikuti oleh kata kerja positif; 只好 bisa menerima 不 / 没.

    Struktur: 不得不 + positive Verb · 只好 + Verb (可带 不 / 没)

going out出门chū ménwithout没méibringing带dàimoney钱qiánI had no choice but to,不得不bù dé bùfrom向xiànga friend朋友péng youborrow借jiè。

    Hati-hati

    • Anda tidak bisa mengatakan 不得不不去 — untuk "harus tidak melakukan", gunakan 只好不去.

不断 vs. 不停 — "tanpa henti" vs. "tanpa jeda"

    English

Both describe something that keeps going. 不断 = "continually, again and again" — a process that repeats or grows over time (it can imply increase), and as an adverb it often takes 地. 不停 = "without a pause" — the action literally never stops for a moment, often as V + 个不停 or 不停地 + V.

    Structure: 不断(地) + Verb · 不停地 + Verb / Verb + 个不停

    Technology is continually advancing.

she她tāwas so excited激动jī dòngthat she得detalked说shuōwithout stopping个不停gè bù tíng。

She was so excited she talked non-stop.

Remember: 不断 = "again and again / growing over time" (断 = "break," so 不断 = "unbroken, recurring"); 不停 = "no pause at all" (停 = "stop"). 不断进步 (keeps advancing) vs 说个不停 (talks non-stop). 个不停 clips onto the verb: 笑个不停.

    Watch out

    • 不断 allows gaps that keep recurring; 不停 means literally no pause.
    Bahasa Indonesia

    Teknologi terus maju.

she她tāwas so excited激动jī dòngthat she得detalked说shuōwithout stopping个不停gè bù tíng。

Dia begitu gembira sampai berbicara tanpa henti.

Ingat: 不断 = "berulang-ulang / terus berkembang seiring waktu" (断 = "putus", jadi 不断 = "terus-menerus, berulang"); 不停 = "tanpa henti sama sekali" (停 = "berhenti). 不断进步 (terus maju) vs 说个不停 (ngobrol tanpa henti). 个不停 menempel pada kata kerja: 笑个不停.

    Hati-hati

    • 不断 mengizinkan jeda yang tetap berulang; 不停 berarti secara harfiah tanpa jeda.

反而 vs. 却 — "sebaliknya" vs "tetapi, namun"

    English

Both mark a turn, but with different force. 反而 = "on the contrary, instead" — the result is the opposite of what you'd expect, and it can sit before or after the subject. 却 = a milder "but, yet," and it can only come after the subject. 反而 often completes the pattern 不但没 / 不但不 …,反而 ….

    Structure: (Subj.) 反而 + opposite outcome · Subj. + 却 + contrast

I我wǒhelped帮bāng了lehim他tāyet he,他tāon the contrary反而fǎn érgot angry生气shēng qì了le。

she她tālikes喜欢xǐ huansweets甜食tián shíbut,却quènever从不cóng bùeats吃chīchocolate巧克力qiǎo kè lì。

She likes sweets, but never eats chocolate.

Remember: 反而 = the OPPOSITE of what you'd expect (a reversal); 却 = a plain "but / yet" (a contrast). 反而 can go before or after the subject and completes 不但没…反而…; 却 only sits after the subject.

    Watch out

    • 却 can't lead the clause — 她却…, never 却她…; 反而 is freer.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya menandai perubahan arah, tetapi dengan kekuatan berbeda. 反而 = "sebaliknya, malah" — hasilnya adalah kebalikan dari apa yang Anda harapkan, dan bisa berada di sebelum atau sesudah subjek. 却 = "tetapi, namun" yang lebih lemah, dan hanya bisa muncul setelah subjek. 反而 sering melengkapi pola 不但没 / 不但不 …,反而 ….

    Struktur: (Subj.) 反而 + opposite outcome · Subj. + 却 + contrast

I我wǒhelped帮bāng了lehim他tāyet he,他tāon the contrary反而fǎn érgot angry生气shēng qì了le。

Dia suka permen, tetapi tidak pernah makan cokelat.

Ingat: 反而 = keBALIKAN dari apa yang diharapkan (pembalikan arah); 却 = "tetapi / namun" biasa (kontras). 反而 bisa sebelum atau sesudah subjek dan melengkapi 不但没…反而…; 却 hanya duduk setelah subjek.

    Hati-hati

    • 却 tidak bisa memimpin klausa — 她却…, bukan 却她…; 反而 lebih bebas.

根本 vs. 到底 — "(tidak) sama sekali" vs "pada akhirnya, sebenarnya"

    English

根本 = "(not) at all, simply, fundamentally" — it intensifies a negation (根本不 / 根本没), flatly denying something. 到底 = "after all, in the end" or, in a question, "on earth / exactly" — it presses for the final result or truth. You can't swap them.

    Structure: 根本 + 不 / 没 + Verb · 到底 + Question

I我wǒsimply根本gēn běndidn't没méigo out出去chū qùhow,你nǐ怎么zěn mecould会huìhave seen看到kàn dàome我wǒ?

I didn't go out at all — how could you have seen me?

you你nǐon earth到底dào dǐwhat do you want想xiǎng怎么样zěn me yàng?

What on earth do you want?

Remember: 根本 intensifies a NEGATION ("not at all": 根本不/没); 到底 presses for an ANSWER ("on earth / in the end"). One flatly denies, the other demands the truth. In a statement, 到底 = "after all, it turned out…".

    Watch out

    • 根本 leans on a following 不 / 没; 到底 leans on a question word or a result.
    Bahasa Indonesia

根本 = "(tidak) sama sekali, sekadar, mendasar" — ia memperkuat penyangkalan (根本不 / 根本没), menyangkal sesuatu secara tegas. 到底 = "padahal, pada akhirnya" atau, dalam pertanyaan, "sebenarnya / persis" — ia menuntut hasil akhir atau kebenaran. Anda tidak bisa menukar keduanya.

    Struktur: 根本 + 不 / 没 + Verb · 到底 + Question

I我wǒsimply根本gēn běndidn't没méigo out出去chū qùhow,你nǐ怎么zěn mecould会huìhave seen看到kàn dàome我wǒ?

Saya tidak pergi sama sekali — bagaimana kamu bisa melihatku?

you你nǐon earth到底dào dǐwhat do you want想xiǎng怎么样zěn me yàng?

    Apa sih yang kamu inginkan?

Ingat: 根本 memperkuat PENYANGKALAN ("tidak sama sekali": 根本不/没); 到底 menuntut JAWABAN ("sebenarnya / pada akhirnya). Satu menyangkal, yang lain menuntut kebenaran. Dalam pernyataan, 到底 = "padahal, ternyata…".

    Hati-hati

    • 根本 bersandar pada 不 / 没 berikutnya; 到底 bersandar pada kata tanya atau hasil.

根据 vs. 据 — "menurut" (panjang vs pendek)

    English

These overlap in meaning — "according to, on the basis of" — but differ in style. 据 is terse and literary, and pairs with single-character or short items (据说, 据实, 据悉). 根据 is the everyday word, takes two-or-more-character objects, and can also act as a noun.

    Structure: 据 + short word + Clause · 根据 + (longer) source + Clause

it is据jùsaid说shuōhe,他tāhas already已经yǐ jīnggone abroad出国chū guó了le。

It's said he's already gone abroad.

According to the survey results, everyone is very satisfied.

Remember: 据 = terse/literary + SHORT items (据说, 据悉, 据实); 根据 = everyday + longer objects, and a noun too. Same idea, opposite ends of the formality scale.

    Watch out

    • 据 wants a tight, short partner (据说 ✓); a longer source takes 根据 (根据调查结果).
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya tumpang tindih maknanya — "menurut, berdasarkan" — tetapi berbeda gaya. 据 ringkas dan bernuansa sastra, dan berpasangan dengan item satu karakter atau pendek (据说, 据实, 据悉). 根据 adalah kata sehari-hari, menerima objek dua karakter atau lebih, dan juga bisa berfungsi sebagai kata benda.

    Struktur: 据 + short word + Clause · 根据 + (longer) source + Clause

it is据jùsaid说shuōhe,他tāhas already已经yǐ jīnggone abroad出国chū guó了le。

Katanya dia sudah pergi ke luar negeri.

    Hati-hati

    • 据 menginginkan pasangan yang padat dan pendek (据说 ✓); sumber yang lebih panjang menggunakan 根据 (根据调查结果).

恢复 vs. 还原 — "pulih / memulihkan" vs "kembali ke kondisi awal"

    English

Both mean returning to a former state, but with a different feel. 恢复 = "recover, restore" something that was damaged, disrupted or lost — health, order, normal service. 还原 = "return to the exact original state, reset, reduce" — it stresses going back precisely to how it was (it's also the chemistry term "reduce").

    Structure: 恢复 + Noun (health / order) · 把 … 还原 (成 …)

after经过jīng guòtreatment治疗zhì liáohe,他tā的dehealth身体shēn tǐslowly慢慢màn mànrecovered恢复huī fù了le。

You can reset the settings to the defaults.

Remember: 恢复 = bring back something DAMAGED/lost (health, order); 还原 = return to the EXACT original / reset. 恢复健康 (recover) vs 还原设置 (reset to factory). 还原 stresses precisely as before, with no "was broken" overtone.

    Watch out

    • For health/order coming back, it's 恢复 — 还原 sounds like a reset/reduction.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya berarti kembali ke keadaan sebelumnya, tetapi dengan nuansa berbeda. 恢复 = "pulih, memulihkan" sesuatu yang rusak, terganggu, atau hilang — kesehatan, ketertiban, layanan normal. 还原 = "kembali ke KEADAAN AWAL YANG SAMA PERSIS", setel ulang, kurangi — ia menekankan kembali tepat seperti semula (ini juga istilah kimia "reduce").

    Struktur: 恢复 + Noun (health / order) · 把 … 还原 (成 …)

after经过jīng guòtreatment治疗zhì liáohe,他tā的dehealth身体shēn tǐslowly慢慢màn mànrecovered恢复huī fù了le。

Ingat: 恢复 = mengembalikan sesuatu YANG RUSAK/HILANG (kesehatan, ketertiban); 还原 = kembali ke ASLI SAMA PERSIS / setel ulang. 恢复健康 (pulih) vs 还原设置 (setel ulang ke pabrikan). 还原 menekankan tepat seperti sebelumnya, tanpa nuansa "pernah rusak".

    Hati-hati

    • Untuk kesehatan/ketertiban yang kembali, itu 恢复 — 还原 terdengar seperti setel ulang/pengurangan.

居然 vs. 反而 — "terkejut" vs "sebaliknya"

    English

Both flag the unexpected, but differently. 居然 = "surprisingly, to one's astonishment" — it simply marks the event as astonishing, often letting the speaker tack on a comment. 反而 = "on the contrary" — it marks a reversal, the opposite of what should have followed, and pairs with 不但没 / 不但不 …,反而 …, where 居然 can't.

    Structure: 居然 + astonishing fact (+ comment) · 不但没 / 不但不 …,反而 …

he他tāso这么zhè meyoung小xiǎoastonishingly居然jū ráncan能néngrecite背bèihundreds of几百jǐ bǎi首shǒuTang poems唐诗Táng shītruly,真zhēnremarkable了不起liǎo bu qǐ。

Remember: 居然 = "astonishingly!" (just marks surprise, + optional comment); 反而 = "on the contrary" (a reversal). Only 反而 completes 不但没 / 不但不 …,反而 …. 居然 is amazement; 反而 is a flip.

    Watch out

    • A surprise that isn't a reversal takes 居然; the "opposite happened" twist takes 反而.
    Bahasa Indonesia

    Hati-hati

一度 vs. 一时 — "paling satu waktu" vs "untuk (sementara) sesaat"

    English

Both touch on time but mean different spans. 一度 = "once, at one time" — a past phase (often a difficult one: 一度想放弃), and it appears in 一年一度 ("annual"). 一时 = "for a short while, momentarily, for the moment" — brief or sudden, often "can't … right now" (一时想不起来).

Structure: 一度 + past Verb phrase · 一时 + (不能) Verb

    Remember: 一度 = "once, at one time" (a PAST phase; also 一年一度 = "annual"); 一时 = "for a brief moment / right now" (一时想不起来). 度 = a stretch/occasion; 时 = a moment.

    Watch out

    • 一时 is the "can't … just now" word — don't use 一度 for a momentary lapse.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya berkaitan dengan waktu tetapi memiliki durasi berbeda. 一度 = "paling satu kali, di suatu masa" — fase masa lalu (sering fase sulit: 一度想放弃), dan muncul dalam 一年一度 ("setiap tahun"). 一时 = "untuk sementara, sesaat, untuk saat ini" — singkat atau mendadak, sering "tidak bisa … sekarang" (一时想不起来).

Struktur: 一度 + past Verb phrase · 一时 + (不能) Verb

he他tāin the past过去guò qùat one time一度yí dùwanted to想xiǎnggive up放弃fàng qì。

Ingat: 一度 = "paling satu kali, di suatu masa" (FASE MASA LALU; juga 一年一度 = "setiap tahun"); 一时 = "untuk sesaat / sekarang" (一时想不起来). 度 = rentang/peristiwa; 时 = momen.

    Hati-hati

一直 vs. 一向 — "selama ini (terus-menerus)" vs "selama ini (biasanya)"

    English

Both mean "all along," but one is an unbroken stretch and the other a long-standing habit. 一直 = "continuously, the whole time" — an unbroken action from some point, and it can even run into the future (我会一直支持你). 一向 = "consistently, habitually up to now" — a settled trait, and it only reaches up to the present.

Structure: 一直 + Verb (can be future) · 一向 + habit / trait (up to now)

    I我wǒwill会huìalways一直yì zhísupport支持zhī chíyou你nǐ。

    I will always support you.

    he他tāhas always一向yí xiàngbeen very很hěnpunctual守时shǒu shí。

Remember: 一直 = an UNBROKEN stretch (can extend into the FUTURE: 会一直支持你); 一向 = a HABITUAL trait, only up to NOW (一向很守时). Continuous line vs settled habit.

    Watch out

    • For a promise reaching forward, only 一直 works — 一向 can't point to the future.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya berarti "selama ini," tetapi satu adalah rentang tanpa putus dan yang lainnya adalah kebiasaan yang telah lama berlangsung. 一直 = "terus-menerus, sepanjang waktu" — tindakan yang tidak terputus dari suatu titik, dan bahkan dapat berlanjut ke masa depan (我会一直支持你). 一向 = "secara konsisten, terbiasa hingga sekarang" — sifat yang sudah mapan, dan hanya mencapai saat ini saja.

Struktur: 一直 + Verb (can be future) · 一向 + habit / trait (up to now)

    I我wǒwill会huìalways一直yì zhísupport支持zhī chíyou你nǐ。

Ingat: 一直 = rentang TIDAK TERPUTUS (dapat meluas ke MASA DEPAN: 会一直支持你); 一向 = sifat KEBIASAAN, hanya sampai SEKARANG (一向很守时). Garis terus vs kebiasaan tetap.

彼此 vs. 对方 — "saling" vs. "pihak lain"

    English

Both can translate as "each other," but they pull in different directions. 彼此 is reciprocal — "one another, both sides, mutually" — and can sit right before a verb like 互相 (彼此信任 = "trust each other"). 对方 points to the other specific party — the single counterpart facing you — and can't go before a verb that way. 彼此 may follow 你们 / 我们 / 大家; 对方 cannot.

Structure: 彼此 + Verb · 对方 + Noun (= the other side)

you你nǐshould要yàolisten to听听tīng tingthe other side's对方duì fāng的deview意见yì jiàn。

You should hear the other side's view.

Remember: 彼此 = reciprocal "each other" (works before a verb, like 互相: 彼此信任); 对方 = the one SPECIFIC counterpart ("the other side": 对方的意见). 彼此 = mutual flow both ways; 对方 = the person across the table.

    Watch out

    • 对方 is a noun (the other party) — it can't sit before a verb the way 彼此 / 互相 do.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya dapat diterjemahkan sebagai "saling", tetapi memiliki arah yang berbeda. 彼此 bersifat resiprokal — "satu sama lain, kedua sisi, timbal balik" — dan dapat diletakkan tepat sebelum kata kerja seperti 互相 (彼此信任 = "saling percaya"). 对方 merujuk pada pihak spesifik lainnya — pasangan tunggal yang menghadap Anda — dan tidak dapat diletakkan sebelum kata kerja dengan cara tersebut. 彼此 dapat mengikuti 你们 / 我们 / 大家; 对方 tidak bisa.

Struktur: 彼此 + Verb · 对方 + Noun (= the other side)

Anda harus mendengarkan pandangan pihak lain.

Ingat: 彼此 = resiprokal "saling" (bisa sebelum kata kerja, seperti 互相: 彼此信任); 对方 = pasangan SPESIFik ("pihak lain": 对方的意见). 彼此 = aliran timbal balik dua arah; 对方 = orang di seberang meja.

    Hati-hati

    • 对方 adalah kata benda (pihak lain) — tidak bisa diletakkan sebelum kata kerja seperti 彼此 / 互相.

人家 vs. 别人 — "orang lain / mereka" vs. "orang-orang lain"

    English

Both refer to people other than the speaker, but 别人 is the neutral one — "other people, someone else." 人家 is colloquial and often specific or emotionally coloured: it can mean "they / that person (you know who)," and even a coy "I / me." In plain "other people" sentences the two are interchangeable; only 人家 carries the extra coloured uses.

    Structure: 别人 + … (neutral) · 人家 + … (colloquial, often specific / coy)

    other people's别人bié rén的debusiness事shìyou你nǐdon't别biémeddle in管guǎn。

Don't meddle in other people's business.

    they've人家rén jiaalready都dōustopped不bùpaying attention to理lǐyou你nǐ了leand you,你nǐstill还háikeep talking说shuō。

They've already stopped paying you any attention, and you keep on.

Remember: 别人 = neutral "other people"; 人家 = colloquial & often SPECIFIC or charged ("they / that person — you know who," even a coy "me"). 别人的事 (anyone's business) vs 人家都不理你了 (they — pointedly — ignore you). 人家 carries feeling; 别人 doesn't.

    Watch out

    • 人家 can mean a coy "I / me" (人家不要嘛, "I don't want to") — 别人 never can.
    Bahasa Indonesia

Keduanya merujuk pada orang selain pembicara, tetapi 别人 adalah netral — "orang lain, seseorang." 人家 bersifat kiasan dan sering kali spesifik atau bernuansa emosional: bisa berarti "mereka / orang itu (anda tahu siapa)," dan bahkan "saya / aku" yang pemalu. Dalam kalimat "orang lain" biasa, keduanya dapat saling menggantikan; hanya 人家 yang membawa penggunaan bernuansa tambahan.

    Struktur: 别人 + … (neutral) · 人家 + … (colloquial, often specific / coy)

    other people's别人bié rén的debusiness事shìyou你nǐdon't别biémeddle in管guǎn。

    Jangan campur urusan orang lain.

    they've人家rén jiaalready都dōustopped不bùpaying attention to理lǐyou你nǐ了leand you,你nǐstill还háikeep talking说shuō。

Mereka sudah berhenti mempedulikanmu sama sekali, dan kamu terus saja.

Ingat: 别人 = netral "orang lain"; 人家 = kiasan & sering SPESIFIK atau bermuatan ("mereka / orang itu — anda tahu siapa," bahkan "saya" yang pemalu). 别人的事 (urusan siapa saja) vs 人家都不理你了 (mereka — secara eksplisit — mengabaikan Anda). 人家 membawa perasaan; 别人 tidak.

    Hati-hati

    • 人家 bisa berarti "saya / aku" yang pemalu (人家不要嘛, "Saya tidak mau") — 别人 tidak pernah bisa.
