对 vs 对于 (to/toward vs regarding)

Handout

Everyday aim, formal aim

  • Both mean "to / toward / regarding" — but to / towards / correctduì is broader.
  • to / towards / correctduì can target a person or attitude: to / towards / correctduìI / megoodhǎo = "(be) good to me".
  • regarding对于duì = "regarding (a topic)", more formal; it can't replace to / towards / correctduì in to / towards / correctduìI / megoodhǎo.
