Your five strongest
- The Selected Works are your five strongest statements — judged on written evidence, drawing skills, and synthesis (CED 3.C).
- Pick for range and strength: together the five should cover the drawing-skills list.
- Quality beats concept here: flawless craft and a full value range are what a 5 looks like.
The Selected Works are chosen mainly for ____.
Your five strongest, covering a range of skills.
100 characters per field
- Each work carries an identification 作品信息: materials, processes, ideas — about 100 characters per field.
- Make every word count — there is no room for filler.
- Strong candidates: the observational tour de force, the chiaroscuro drama, the synthesis piece.
A strong Selected Works choice?
Sort each choice by whether it strengthens the five.
In Selected Works, flawless craft and full value range matter a lot.
Quality is what a 5 looks like here.
Select all good ways to choose the five.
Five of the same kind wastes the range.
Judge at scoring size
- Details matter at scoring size — view each candidate small and at full zoom before choosing.
- Ask three viewers to rank your top eight; the overlap usually finds the true five.
- The five should not all be the same kind of drawing.
Each Selected Work carries an ____ of materials, processes, and ideas.
About 100 characters per field.
Match the candidate to the skill it showcases.
Range across the skills.
Choosing five works that are all your favourite kind of drawing (say, five careful portraits) wastes the section's range. Spread the five across skills and approaches, so together they prove breadth as well as quality.
A balanced five: an observational still life (rendering), a chiaroscuro figure (light and shade), an expressive ink piece (mark-making), a perspective interior (space), and a mixed-media synthesis work. Range and quality in one set.
Selected Works = your five strongest, scored on writing, skills, and synthesis. Pick for range and quality, write a tight identification per work, judge at scoring size, and let viewers help find the five.
