Turn the corner
- Turn the subject at an angle and you need two-point perspective 两点透视.
- Verticals stay vertical; the two sets of horizontal edges converge to a left and a right point on the horizon.
- Keep the two points far apart — often off the paper — or the box distorts like a fisheye.

The third point
- Look steeply up or down and verticals converge too: three-point perspective 三点透视.
- A skyscraper from below (point in the sky) or a street from a rooftop (point underground).

Close points create fisheye distortion — keep them far apart.

Boxes are scaffolding
- Boxes drawn in perspective become the scaffolding for everything: buildings, books, vehicles, even heads.
- Construct lightly with a perspective grid; render on top.
- Master the box and complex objects become box arrangements.
Select all things that obey the same perspective as their objects.
Shadows and reflections converge with the scene.
Placing both vanishing points inside a small drawing is the classic distortion trap — corners splay wider than 90° and the box looks broken. Let the points live far off the page.
Draw a cereal box corner-on: near vertical edge first, then top and bottom edges running to a far-left and far-right point. Two more verticals close the faces. Tilt your view down at it — now the verticals need a third, underground point.
