  (degree marker)得dedesperately serious不得了bù dé le หลังคำคุณศัพท์จะทำให้ระดับความรุนแรงพุ่งขึ้นสุดขีด — "incredibly …, … to death." โดยตัวเอง desperately serious不得了bù dé le มี nghĩaว่า "[oh no,] terrible!" แต่ในฐานะคำขยายต่อ (complement) มันจะเน้นย้ำความรุนแรง ทั้งในเชิงบวกหรือลบก็ตาม
