  只要 … 就 … — "desde que"

  if only只要zhǐ yào … then / just就jiù … fornece uma condição suficiente — "desde que A, então B." A sozinha é suficiente para garantir B (mesmo que não seja a única rota para chegar lá).

  Estrutura: 只要 + Condition ，就 + Result

  as long as只要zhǐ yàoyou你nǐhard努力nǔ lìstudy学习xué xíthen，就jiùwill会huìmake有yǒuprogress进步jìn bù。

  Lembre-se: trave os pares: if only只要zhǐ yào…then / just就jiù… = "suficiente → então" (suficiente); only have ...只有zhǐ yǒu…only then / not until才cái… = "a única via → então" (necessário). if only只要zhǐ yào busca then / just就jiù, only have ...只有zhǐ yǒu busca only then / not until才cái.

  Cuidado

  • Trocar then / just就jiù por only then / not until才cái transforma silenciosamente "desde que" em "apenas se" — cuidado com o parceiro.

  除非 … 才 … / 否则 … — "a menos que"

  only if (..., or otherwise…除非chú fēi significa "a menos que." Duas estruturas comuns: Resultado，only if (..., or otherwise…除非chú fēi + Condição ("não fará X a menos que Y"), e only if (..., or otherwise…除非chú fēi X，only then / not until才cái Y ("apenas se X, então Y"). Frequentemente acompanha otherwise否则fǒu zé / otherwise要不然yào bù rán ("caso contrário"). Todo o peso recai sobre a única condição necessária.

  Estrutura: Result ，除非 + Condition · 除非 + Condition ，才 + Result

  I我wǒwon't不bùgo去qùunless，除非chú fēiyou你nǐtoo也yěgo去qù。

  Eu não vou a menos que você vá também.

  Lembre-se: only if (..., or otherwise…除非chú fēi = "a única exceção que muda as coisas." only if (..., or otherwise…除非chú fēi…only then / not until才cái… = "apenas se … então"; only if (..., or otherwise…除非chú fēi…otherwise否则fǒu zé… = "a menos que …, caso contrário …". É primo próximo de only have ...只有zhǐ yǒu…only then / not until才cái…, ambos destacando a única condição necessária.

  Cuidado

  • only if (..., or otherwise…除非chú fēi…only then / not until才cái e only if (..., or otherwise…除非chú fēi…otherwise否则fǒu zé apontam em direções opostas — only then / not until才cái leva ao bom resultado, otherwise否则fǒu zé à alternativa ruim.
