不像 … 那么 … (not as … as)

• 不像bù xiàng + N2 + so much这么zhè me / like that那么nà me + Adj = "not as … as N2".
• I / me我wǒnot不bùto resemble像xiànghe / him他tālike that那么nà mehigh高gāo = "I'm not as tall as he is."
• 不像bù xiàng sets up the contrast; so much这么zhè me / like that那么nà me points at the standard.

N1 + 不像bù xiàng + N2 + so much这么zhè me / like that那么nà me + Adj

• 不像bù xiàng … like that那么nà me … denies that N1 reaches N2's level.

I我wǒnot as不像bú xiànghim他tāso那么nà metall高gāo。

• I / me我wǒnot不bùto resemble像xiànghe / him他tālike that那么nà mehigh高gāo = "I'm not as tall as he is."
