只要 … ，就 … (as long as)

One condition is all it takes

• if only只要zhǐ yào … ，then / just就jiù … = "as long as …, then …".
• if only只要zhǐ yàoto make an effort努力nǔ lì，then / just就jiùto have / there is有yǒuto hope希望xī wàng = "as long as you try, there's hope."
• if only只要zhǐ yào sets a sufficient condition; then / just就jiù delivers the result.

if only只要zhǐ yào … ，then / just就jiù …

• if only只要zhǐ yào = one condition is enough; then / just就jiù gives the outcome.

as long as只要zhǐ yàowork hard努力nǔ lì，then就jiùhave有yǒuhope希望xī wàng。

• if only只要zhǐ yàoto make an effort努力nǔ lì，then / just就jiùto have / there is有yǒuto hope希望xī wàng = "as long as you try, there's hope."

if only只要zhǐ yào = sufficient

• One condition is all you need (contrast only have ...只有zhǐ yǒu…only then / not until才cái…, the only way).
