An interruption in a pattern is emphasis

A line-and-sentence pass
- Read the poem once ignoring line breaks, stopping only at punctuation.
- Mark every place where a sentence and a line end in different places.
- Find the poem's pattern, then find the one interruption in it.
Four stanzas, every sentence ending exactly at a stanza break — except the third, which runs on into the fourth. Nothing else in the poem is irregular. That single interruption is where the poem puts its weight, and the essay can be built on it alone.
