¿Están sus padres de acuerdo con que vivan juntos?

Recuerde: whether (or not)是否shì fǒu = la forma escrita de is or isn't是不是shì bú shì ("si"). Mismo propósito, registro formal; natural en un formulario o informe, pero rígido en un chat (donde se diría is or isn't是不是shì bú shì).

    Precaución

    • Va antes del verbo/adjetivo: whether (or not)是否shì fǒucorrect正确zhèng què, no correct正确zhèng quèwhether (or not)是否shì fǒu (esa cola de "...o no" es whether or not (at the end…与否yǔ fǒu, más abajo).

    Verbo / Adjetivo + 与否 — "si o no"

whether or not (at the end…与否yǔ fǒu es una partícula clásica para "… o no" — nominaliza una pregunta de sí/no en una frase abstracta, situándose al final de una cláusula. Es muy formal.

Estructura: Verb / Adjective + 与否

success成功chéng gōngor not与否yǔ fǒu,要yàois down to靠kàoyourself自己zì jǐ。

Si tiene éxito o no depende de usted.

this这zhè件jiànmatter事shìimportant重要zhòng yàoor not与否yǔ fǒudepends on,取决于qǔ jué yúhow you你nǐ怎么zěn mesee it看kàn。

Si esto importa o no depende de cómo lo vea.

Recuerde: whether or not (at the end…与否yǔ fǒu = "... o no," añadido al FINAL para formar un tema — success成功chéng gōngwhether or not (at the end…与否yǔ fǒu ("el asunto de si tiene éxito"). Convierte una pregunta de sí/no en una frase similar a un sustantivo. Muy formal; whether (or not)是否shì fǒu va al principio, whether or not (at the end…与否yǔ fǒu al final.

    Precaución

    • Va después del verbo/adjetivo (success成功chéng gōngwhether or not (at the end…与否yǔ fǒu) — la versión con posición inicial es whether (or not)是否shì fǒu.

    Sustantivo + 之 + Sustantivo — 的 literario

(of — literary)之zhī es el equivalente clásico / escrito del posesivo (modifier / structural particle)的de, encontrado en frases hechas, títulos y documentos formales. No puede reemplazar todo (modifier / structural particle)的de — está fijo a ciertas combinaciones.

    Estructura: Noun + 之 + Noun

to harm others害人hài rén之zhīa mind心xīnone must not have不可有bù kě yǒu。

Nunca tenga malas intenciones hacia otros.

    these这些zhè xiēmethods方式fāng shìstill仍rénghave有yǒushort-不足bù zú之zhīcomings处chù。

Estos métodos todavía tienen puntos débiles.

Recuerde: (of — literary)之zhī = el de literario — pero fijo a expresiones establecidas, no un cambio libre: somewhat三分sān fēn(of — literary)之zhīone / a一yī (un tercio), to anticipate意料yì liào(of — literary)之zhīto hit (the mark)中zhōng (como era de esperarse), insufficient不足bù zú(of — literary)之zhīplace处chù (puntos débiles). Aprenda las frases enteras.

    Precaución

    • No puede poner (of — literary)之zhī en lugar de cualquier de — 我之书wǒ zhī shū es incorrecto; es I / me我wǒ(modifier / structural particle)的debook书shū.

    Enunciado + 嘛 — "obviamente, por supuesto"

La partícula (obviously)嘛ma marca algo como autoevidente desde el punto de vista del hablante — "obviamente, por supuesto". (Mismo sonido que el (yes/no ?)吗ma de pregunta de sí/no, pero función diferente.)

    Estructura: Statement + 嘛

    if you don't不bùwant to想xiǎnggo去qùthen就jiùdon't不要bú yàogo去qù嘛ma。

Si no quieres ir, entonces no vayas — obviamente.

    he他tāpretty挺tǐngwell-off有钱yǒu qián的de嘛ma。

    Claramente es bastante rico.

Recuerde: (obviously)嘛ma = "obviamente, por supuesto" — presenta el punto como autoevidente (unexpectedly不想bù xiǎngto go去qùthen / just就jiùdon't不要bú yàoto go去qù(obviously)嘛ma, "entonces simplemente no vayas, obviamente"). Mismo sonido que la pregunta (yes/no ?)吗ma, función opuesta: (obviously)嘛ma afirma, (yes/no ?)吗ma pregunta.

    Precaución

    • No lo confunda con (yes/no ?)吗ma — (obviously)嘛ma hace una afirmación (ligeramente impaciente), no una pregunta.

    Oración + 呗 — "(bueno) obviamente, entonces"

La partícula coloquial modal particle indicating…呗bei indica que algo es obvio o simplemente así — "bueno, obviamente; entonces solo ...; que sea." También puede transmitir resignación o falta de entusiasmo.

    Estructura: Sentence + 呗

if you can't不会bú huìthen就jiùjust好好hǎo hǎolearn it学xué呗bei。

Si no sabe, entonces simplemente apréndalo — fácil.

    if you don't不bùwant to想xiǎnggo去qùthen就jiùdon't不bùgo去qù呗bei。

Si no quieres ir, entonces no vayas, ya.

Recuerde: modal particle indicating…呗bei = un encogimiento de hombros: "bueno, obviamente / entonces solo... / que sea." Muy coloquial, a menudo con un toque de resignación (improbable不会bú huìto attend school就学jiù xuémodal particle indicating…呗bei, "si no sabes, entonces simplemente apréndelo — qué más hay"). Descarta el asunto como obvio.

    Precaución

    • Es muy coloquial y puede sonar despectivo — lea la resignación en su tono.
