What this topic teaches
One pattern owns this topic: quite + Adjective + (modifier / structural particle)的, the laid-back "quite, pretty, rather". It is the conversational way to dial an adjective up a little — softer than degree / adjective linker很, far short of very — and it is tested on one thing above all: the (modifier / structural particle)的 at the end.
quite + Adjective + (modifier / structural particle)的: the relaxed "quite"
Structure: quite + Adjective + (modifier / structural particle)的
Your boyfriend is quite handsome. (Nǐ nánpéngyou tǐng shuài de.) — Your boyfriend is pretty handsome.
Everyone's been quite busy lately. (Zuìjìn dàjiā dōu tǐng máng de.) — Everyone's been quite busy lately.
quite ... (modifier / structural particle)的 is a relaxed, conversational intensifier that almost always wraps up with (modifier / structural particle)的. It pops up constantly in everyday chat, praising without gushing: pretty handsome, quite ocupado, bastante bueno.
Dilo: 这辆bicycle自行车straight挺new新(modifier / structural particle)的。
| used in 可汗可 + Adj + (completed / change)了 | ¡realmente, mucho!
挺忙(modifier / structural particle)的 significa "bastante ocupado" — un informe relajado, no una queja. very非常busy忙 es un firme "muy ocupado". busy忙to die死(completed / change)了 es la versión dramática del Tema 1.
Tenga cuidado
- Omitir el (modifier / structural particle)的 suena incompleto a oído nativo: straight挺good好 suena cortado, mientras que straight挺good好(modifier / structural particle)的 resulta correcto.
Repaso
- straight挺good好 or straight挺good好(modifier / structural particle)的 — ¿cuál es la oración completa?

- ¿Qué cierra el marco enfatizado con used in 可汗可: (modifier / structural particle)的 or (completed / change)了?
(Respuestas: 1. straight挺good好(modifier / structural particle)的 — el (modifier / structural particle)的 cierra los extremos. 2. very非常busy忙. 3. (completed / change)了 — used in 可汗可 + Adj + (completed / change)了. 4. straight挺salted咸(modifier / structural particle)的 or straight挺not不to be fond of eating好吃(modifier / structural particle)的 — "bastante salado", suavizado por el marco informal).
