HSK3: prepare for your booked exam
Confirm the exam version with your test centre first. The format below belongs to the HSK 3.0 official sample we checked. Older HSK papers have different word lists, counts and tasks.
- Finish the teaching units, then try the short course checkpoint with help closed.
- Open the official sample package. Find the HSK3 paper, matching answers and listening recording. Keep the answers and transcript closed during practice.
- Use the paper’s instructions and recording. Record your answers and note where you needed more time. Ask a teacher to review productive work.
- Review mistakes by type: word meaning, pronunciation, missed detail, sentence structure or task requirements. Revisit one teaching unit, then try an unused task.
Reserve a fresh official form if you need an unseen assessment. Public teaching questions and already-reviewed samples are practice.

Review whether the listener understands you, whether you complete the task, and whether you respond to the prompt accurately. Reading a visible transcript does not practise listening and retelling.
Use the matching key carefully
Use the exact source key for objective items only. Original productive tasks require supervised human criterion review; do not invent a scaled score. Archive audio is provenance evidence, not permission to republish it.
A raw practice result is not an official scaled score. A teacher should review writing and speaking using the applicable component criteria.
