- Followed by a noun or -ing form — not a full clause.
- Despite the rain, we went out. In spite of being tired, she kept going.
- Not despite it was raining — use despite the rain.

- 后面跟名词或 -ing 形式 —— 不跟完整句子。
- 尽管Despite (冠词)the 雨rain 我们, we 去went 外出out.(尽管下着雨,我们还是出门了。)

- Don't use however like but to glue two clauses together.
