Two reasons not to go
- A friend wants to go out tonight, but you are tired and have no money left.
- I我too太rope累(completed / change)了，besides再说also也not / haven't没coin钱(completed / change)了。 — "I'm too tired — and besides, I'm out of money."
Reason 1，besides再说 + reason 2
- besides再说 = "besides, what's more", adding a further reason in conversation.
- It starts the second clause: today今天too太cold冷(completed / change)了，besides再说I我furthermore还有homework作业.
today今天too太cold冷了，besides再说I我still还have有homework作业。
Complete: “It's too late, and besides, the shop is closed.” 太晚了，____商店也关门了。

再说 adds a further reason.
Persuading or refusing
- 别买(completed / change)了，too太expensive贵(completed / change)了，besides再说you你already已经have有one一个(completed / change)了。 — "Don't buy it — it's too expensive, and besides, you already have one."
- besides再说 often comes with also也 or still还 in the added reason.

Reasons, not sequences
- besides再说 adds a reason or argument; for "then" in a sequence, use then / after然后.
- It is spoken; in writing use moreover而且 or besides此外.
再说 is the usual linker for “then” in a sequence of steps.

Sequences use 然后; 再说 adds reasons.
besides再说 = deal with it later
- After a verb phrase or at the end, besides再说 can mean "we'll see later": 这件matter事later以后besides再说(suggestion)吧。 — "Let's talk about it later."
- Context tells you which: adding a reason, or postponing.
this matter这件事later以后deal with再说吧。
