Two forms of a letter
- A letter 字母 can have a capital letter 大写字母 and a small letter 小写字母. Use these printed pairs: A a · B b · C c · D d · E e · F f · G g.
- H h · I i · J j · K k · L l · M m. The two forms in each pair belong to the same letter.
Choose the capital form of m.
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
M m is the pair. N n and W w are different letters. Find the pair in the chart, then retry.
The rest of the chart
- N n · O o · P p · Q q · R r · S s · T t.
- U u · V v · W w · X x · Y y · Z z. Use the chart for shape and case. It does not tell you how a letter or word sounds.
Choose the small form of T.
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
T t is the pair. f belongs with F; r belongs with R.
Match each capital letter to its small form.
Độ khó 2/5 · 140 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
The pairs are A a · M m · T t · E e. Match letter identity, not a neighbouring chart entry.
Copy a short name
- Source: MINA. This practice card uses Mina: capital M, then small i n a, joined together.
- Worked check: Mina keeps the four letters in order. Mian changes their order. Copy a person’s own spelling; these practice names use one initial capital.
Read L E E. How many letters are printed? Count each occurrence. Write a number.
Độ khó 2/5 · 140 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
There are three printed letters: L, E, E. The repeated letter still counts. This is not a sound count.
Source name: MINA. Write the name for a card: one initial capital, then small letters. Join the letters; do not add spaces.
Compare with the source and checklist. Keep a matching response or repair a specific difference. This is unscored self-review, not an automatic writing assessment.
Keep repeated letters
- Source: LEE. Copy Lee. Keep both e letters; Le loses one.
- Count every printed letter, even a repeated one. This counts letters, not sounds. Names with the same letter count can still have different spellings.
Read NIA. Which letter is last?
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
The order is N, I, A. A is last. Read each position instead of guessing from the first letter.
Read Lee. Which letter appears twice?
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
e appears twice, after L. Keep both when copying Lee.
Look at fresh letters
- Try the new choices before opening feedback. Use the chart, then compare each position.
- Capital/small forms can change while letter order stays the same: TOM → Tom. A different letter changes the spelling: Tom → Tim.
Choose BOTH capital letters. Select two.
Độ khó 2/5 · 140 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
D and B are capitals. d is the small form of D. Both capitals are needed.
Source name: ROY. Copy: R _ Y. Write only the missing letter; capital or small is accepted.
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
The middle source letter is O. o is the same letter in small form. Digit 0 is not accepted. This check tests the missing letter, not your full name-card layout.
Source name: NIA. A card says Nai. Write the corrected name with one initial capital and the other letters small.
Compare with the source and checklist. Keep a matching response or repair a specific difference. This is unscored self-review, not an automatic writing assessment.
A letter and a digit
- Source label: Room A3. A is a letter; 3 is a digit. Copy the label exactly; it names a room, not three people.
- For the given-name box, follow the printed source. For a room code, keep its capital and digit. A name card does not need your real personal information.
The box is labelled NAME. Choose the same word in small letters.
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
NAME → name preserves all four letters in order. The other choices rearrange them. This copies a word; it is not a pronunciation check.
Read Room B2. Which single character in the room code is a letter?
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
B is the letter; 2 is the digit in this code. 8 is a different digit and is absent. Copy the code as B2.
Check a new card
- Worked repair: source JO, card J0. The source has letter O; the card has digit 0. Copy Jo for this name card.
- Fonts can make some letters or digits look similar. Use the printed chart and the source; if a real label is unclear, ask its owner. This unit does not assess handwriting.
Your source shows small g. Choose its capital partner.
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
G g is the pair. C and Q are other letters. Compare the chart; small letter forms can vary between fonts.
Printed source: Name: JO · Room: A3. Write a two-line card. Use one initial capital for the name and keep the room code as printed.
Compare with the source and checklist. Keep a matching response or repair a specific difference. This is unscored self-review, not an automatic writing assessment.
Keep a draft only if useful
- Write the fictional card on this page before opening its model. Compare spelling, order and capitals. You may keep a response that already matches.
- Saving drafts in this browser is optional. Anyone using its browser profile may read them; turning saving off removes this lesson’s stored copies. Without saving, leaving the page loses the draft. Comparisons are unscored.
Review later
- Tomorrow, try the new name card before reopening the chart. Copy another invented name and compare it with its printed source.
- Next: revisit small signs, or try A1 be for longer sentences. This short unit does not certify a CEFR level.
Course note: these are original starter examples. Pre-A1 is an intended teaching target, not a validated placement result or complete level course. Council of Europe descriptor information checked 23 October 2026; it does not approve this local course. Independent language, answer, accessibility and learner reviews remain pending.
Later review. Source: ADA. Which card keeps that name with one initial capital?
Độ khó 1/5 · 100 xu + phần thưởng nhỏ khi hoàn thành lần đầu tiên hôm nay
Ada keeps A D A in order. Aad changes the order; Ava changes the middle letter. Use the source if you need to check.
Later review. Source: Name: PIP · Room: C4. Before reopening the chart, write a two-line card with one initial capital for the name. Then compare. If you use the chart, that is supported practice.
Compare with the source and checklist. Keep a matching response or repair a specific difference. This is unscored self-review, not an automatic writing assessment.
