Choose a focus for the practice
- Fluency 流利度 concerns connected, manageable speech; accuracy 准确性 concerns correct language forms. A two-minute connected-speech drill mainly focuses on fluency, not guaranteed equal improvement in both.
- Keep speaking during that attempt and note selected errors for later review. A separate focused review can practise a form; the two skills are related, not permanently separate abilities.
Escolha um foco para a prática
- Fluidez 流利度 refere-se a fala conectada e manejável; precisão 准确性 refere-se a formas linguísticas corretas. Um drill de fala conectada de dois minutos foca principalmente na fluidez, não em melhoria garantida igual em ambos.
- Mantenha-se falando durante essa tentativa e anote erros selecionados para revisão posterior. Uma revisão separada e focada pode praticar uma forma; as duas habilidades são relacionadas, não capacidades permanentemente separadas.
A drill mainly asks you to maintain connected speech for two minutes, with form errors reviewed afterwards. Which skill is its main focus? · Um drill principalmente pede para você manter a fala conectada por dois minutos, com erros de forma revisados depois. Qual habilidade é seu foco principal?
The main focus is fluency. A later focused review can work on accuracy; the skills are related, and this activity does not promise equal gains in both. · O foco principal é fluência. Uma revisão focada posterior pode trabalhar precisão; as habilidades estão relacionadas, e esta atividade não promete ganhos iguais em ambas.
Check word stress with the word’s use
- Word stress 重音 makes one syllable more prominent. In “a REcord” the noun has first-syllable stress; in “Please reCORD the meeting” the verb has second-syllable stress.
- Use the sentence and a reliable pronunciation entry together. This word’s pattern is not a rule that every English noun and verb changes stress in the same way.
Verifique a ênfase silábica com o uso da palavra
- Ênfase silábica 重音 torna uma sílaba mais proeminente. Em “um REcord” (substantivo), a ênfase é na primeira sílaba; em “Por favor reCORD a reunião” (verbo), a ênfase é na segunda sílaba.
- Use a frase e uma entrada de pronúncia confiável juntas. Este padrão de palavra não é uma regra de que todo substantivo e verbo em inglês mudam a ênfase da mesma forma.
In “Please reCORD the meeting”, which syllable is stressed and how is record used? · Em “Please reCORD the meeting”, qual sílaba tem acento e como record é usado?
The second syllable is stressed in this verb use. The noun “a REcord” has first-syllable stress. Check this word’s sentence use; it is not a universal pattern for every noun and verb. · A segunda sílaba tem acento neste uso verbal. O substantivo “a REcord” tem acento na primeira sílaba. Verifique o uso desta palavra na frase; não é um padrão universal para todo substantivo e verbo.
Hear intonation in actual speech
- Intonation is the voice’s pitch pattern. Rising pitch is common in yes-no questions, but question form, context and the speaker’s meaning work together; every question need not use the same pattern.
- Compare spoken examples and ask what the listener understood. A typed question shows wording, but cannot supply a pronunciation or pitch score.
Ouça a entonação na fala real
- Entonação é o padrão de tom da voz. Tom ascendente é comum em perguntas de sim/não, mas forma da pergunta, contexto e significado do falante trabalham juntos; nem toda pergunta precisa usar o mesmo padrão.
- Compare exemplos falados e pergunte o que o ouvinte entendeu. Uma pergunta digitada mostra wording, mas não pode fornecer uma pontuação de pronúncia ou tom.
Repair an error without claiming extra marks
- “He go—he goes to the lab on Tuesdays” contains a brief repair of a regular-action verb. A correction can clarify the message; it does not automatically beat an already accurate sentence.
- Avoid restarting the whole talk for every small error. Review actual listener understanding and repeated difficulties, rather than inferring a score from the written correction alone.
Repare um erro sem reclamar notas extras
- “Ele vai—ele vai ao laboratório às terças-feiras” contém uma breve reparação de um verbo de ação regular. Uma correção pode clarificar a mensagem; não supera automaticamente uma frase já precisa.
- Evite reiniciar toda a fala para cada pequeno erro. Revise a compreensão real do ouvinte e dificuldades repetidas, em vez de inferir uma pontuação apenas da correção escrita.
Every brief self-correction makes a spoken message less understandable. · Toda autocorreção breve torna uma mensagem falada menos compreensível.
A brief repair can clarify a form or meaning. Repeated lengthy interruptions can affect flow, but neither an automatic penalty nor a guaranteed score increase follows from every correction. · Um reparo breve pode clarificar uma forma ou significado. Interrupções longas repetidas podem afetar o fluxo, mas nem uma penalidade automática nem um aumento garantido de pontuação seguem de cada correção.
Give others a useful turn
- Turn-taking 话轮转换 includes inviting a view, responding to a reason and checking agreement. “Mei, what concerns you about the room?” asks for a contribution rather than just saying a name.
- Choose a pace the listener can follow and leave room for a response. Extreme slowness or a fixed turn every minute is not a universal target.

Which moves can support useful participation in a group discussion? Choose all that apply. · Quais movimentos podem apoiar uma participação útil em uma discussão de grupo? Escolha todos os aplicáveis.
Invite a relevant view, disagree with a reason and respond to another speaker’s point. A long uninterrupted turn alone does not establish useful interaction or an official mark. · Convide uma opinião relevante, discordar com uma razão e responda a um ponto de outro falante. Um turno longo ininterrupto sozinho não estabelece interação útil ou marca oficial.
Write one sentence disagreeing politely with a classmate who said online classes are always better. · Escreva uma frase discordando educadamente de um colega que disse que aulas online são sempre melhores.
Example: “I see your point, but online lessons can make some practical group tasks harder.” Give a relevant reason and avoid replacing one universal claim with another. · Exemplo: “Vejo seu ponto, mas aulas online podem tornar algumas tarefas práticas de grupo mais difíceis.” Dê uma razão relevante e evite substituir uma afirmação universal por outra.
Use focused practice and a listener check. A written correction cannot supply a pronunciation score or prove that the spoken message was clear.
Draft: “He go to lab two on Tuesdays.” Repair: “He goes to lab two on Tuesdays.” Then ask the listener to restate the lab and day after actual speech; the written repair alone does not test pronunciation.
