• half半bàn = "half". Where it sits changes the meaning.
• half of sth半个bàn gèapple苹果píng guǒ = "half an apple"; one and a half一个半yí gè bàn = "one and a half".
• Before the measure = "half a"; after = "and a half".

half半bàn + Measure = "half a"

• half半bàn + Measure + Noun = "half a …".

half半bàn(measure word)个geapple苹果píng guǒ。

• half of sth半个bàn gèapple苹果píng guǒ = "half an apple."

Number + Measure + half半bàn = "and a half"
