Duration + 没 + Verb + 了 (how long you haven't …)
How long it's been
- Easy: "I studied for ten years" — 学了十年.
- Tricky: "I haven't studied in ten years." The word order flips.
- The time of absence jumps in front of the verb.
Duration + not / haven't没 + Verb + (completed / change)了
- Pattern: (already已经 +) Duration + not / haven't没 + Verb + (completed / change)了.
we我们already已经ten years十年haven't没met见了。
- 十年没见(completed / change)了 = "haven't met in ten years (and counting)."
