A decision before an answer
- 这件than / compared to比那件cheap便宜 says one item is cheaper. It does not say either item is cheap in absolute terms.
- Your goal: Exchange event and object information with more detailed descriptions.
Read the relationship
- A + than / compared to比 + B + adjective compares two things: this这本书than / compared to比那本书expensive贵。The adjective follows the comparison.
- Compare products by price, colour and features.
A costs 20 and B costs 35. A is cheaper by:
Subtract A’s price from B’s.
Use the defining rule
- Use appropriate measure words such as root本 for books and item件 for clothing. Quantity and property answer different questions.
- Write simple information in an activity table or product record.
Choose the usual comparison:
The pattern is A+比+B+adjective.
Check the conditions
- already已经 + verb + (completed / change)了 can indicate an action is already completed in context. Read what happened versus what is planned.
- Write simple information in an activity table or product record.
blue (color)蓝色(of / 's)的二十元,red (color)红色(of / 's)的三十元。blue (color)蓝色(of / 's)的than / compared to比red (color)红色(of / 's)的cheap便宜十元。The blue item costs 20; the red 30; the difference is 10. The comparison has a specific baseline and difference.
“Already”: 已____。
已经 marks already in the appropriate context.
Apply the task format
- Record names, dates, quantities and prices in the correct fields. A comparison needs both reference objects.
- Write simple information in an activity table or product record.
Do not add very很 into the standard than / compared to比 comparison merely because an English sentence uses very.
Which answer fits this case?
Exchange event and object information with more detailed descriptions
A comparison proving A cheaper also proves A cheap in absolute terms.
It states a relative price, not an absolute evaluation.
