A decision before an answer
- today今天very很cold冷 tells you today is cold. It does not tell you whether it will rain tomorrow.
- Your goal: Ask and describe simple weather and preferences.
Read the relationship
- A basic adjective predicate does not need to be / is是: today今天very很to warm up热。In this pattern very很 often supports a neutral description.
- Recognise common places and directions.
今天很冷 means:
今天 gives today and 冷 gives cold.
Use the defining rule
- Common weather words include cold冷、to warm up热、to rain下雨、to snow下雪。Use today今天、tomorrow明天 to keep the date clear.
- Ask and answer basic environmental information.
医院旁边 indicates:
旁边 is a relative location.
Check the conditions
- Use at / in在 to locate: school学校at / in在here这里。A place name does not by itself tell direction; inspect context.
- Ask and answer basic environmental information.
A: 今天天气how about怎么样? B: very很cold冷,still / also还to rain下雨。A: school学校at / in在where哪里? B: at / in在hospital医院side旁边。One answer describes weather; the other locates a building relative to another.
“Where?” in 学校在____? can be 哪里 or ____.
哪里 and 哪儿 ask location.
Apply the task format
- Express preference with to like喜欢: I / me我to like喜欢clear sky晴天。A preference is different from a weather report.
- Ask and answer basic environmental information.
Do not insert to be / is是 before an ordinary adjectival predicate such as very很cold冷.
Which answer fits this case?

我喜欢下雨 is a weather forecast.
