Conflict After the Peace

Handout

What the CED states

  • Nationalist and separatist movements, along with ethnic conflict and ethnic cleansing, periodically disrupted the post-World War II peace.
  • Four phenomena named, and one verb — periodically disrupted — that says the peace was real but repeatedly broken.
  • The objective's own word is mass atrocities, so the CED is explicit about what is being explained.
