This frame covers 谅 + Subject + Verb Phrase — "I bet you wouldn't". Spoken 谅 opens a small, confident dare. In everyday English it means "I bet," "I'm sure you wouldn't," or "I'm sure you didn't." You size the other person up. The tone is informal and a little challenging. Friends use it when someone has talked big and then looks for a way out. The speaker is very often 我. When listeners already know who is speaking, 我 can drop, and 谅 still starts the line. The handout gives the full form, meaning, boundary and examples.
