| two | two |
Small numbers
- Outcome: read numbers 0–10 as English words. Start with a first exchange.
- Use the written number list. These checks do not test hearing a number.
Zero to five
- 0 zero · 1 one · 2 two · 3 three · 4 four · 5 five
- Point to a digit, then its word. Zero 零 and two 二 name different values.
Choose the word for 0.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Zero names 0 in this word list. Ten is 10, not 0.
Six to ten
- 6 six · 7 seven · 8 eight · 9 nine · 10 ten
- Worked near miss: 10 = zero loses the 1. Use 10 = ten.
Choose the number for seven.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Seven is 7. Six and nine name different numbers.
Write the word for 2.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
The word is two. This checks the written word, not its pronunciation.
A room and a quantity
- “Room two” means Room 2. “two pens” gives a quantity of 2 pens.
- Worked repair: for Room 4, “Room five” changes the place. Use “Room four”.
Match each word to its number.
Difficulté 2/5 · 140 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Keep the value with the whole word: one = 1, four = 4, ten = 10.
New word and number choices
- Choose before opening feedback. Read the full word, not only its first letter.
- If you miss one, connect the corrected word to its digit before trying again.
Choose the number for three.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Three names 3. Read the whole word, then check the value.
Choose the number for five.

Eight names 8. Read the whole word, then check the value.
Choose the number for nine.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Nine names 9. Read the whole word, then check the value.
Choose the word for 6.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Six names 6. Seven and five are nearby values, but different words.
Room two
Read. Choose the matching room label.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
The word two gives the room number 2. This is a label, not a count of every room.
Use a label
- Read the new route sign and choose a quantity. Then write the Room 4 label before showing its model.
- A route or room number labels a place or service; it is not automatically a count.
Route eight
New sign. Which route number is named?
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Eight gives route 8. The sign does not tell you how many buses exist.
Choose the label that asks for 3 pens.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Three names the requested quantity. The other labels change it.
Write an English label for Room 4 using the number word. Then compare.
Compare with the meaning and checklist. A model is one possibility; this self-review does not check every answer or award proficiency.
Say two short phrases
- Use the printed Room 6 / two pens card. Say both phrases aloud; a pause is fine.
- Record and replay locally. This is speaking rehearsal from print, not a listening test or reviewed pronunciation model.
Printed role card: Room 6. Two pens. Say the room number and quantity in English. Record first. You can pause between the two short phrases.
Say the response aloud. With a partner, respond to what they actually say; alone this is rehearsal from a printed cue. Recording, replay and comparison are local self-review, not a pronunciation or listening score.
Review tomorrow
- Try the new 10 and 1 checks before reopening the list. Use another room number with a partner.
- Next: small signs and labels.
Course note: these are original starter examples. Pre-A1 is an intended teaching target, not a validated placement result or complete level course. Council of Europe descriptor information checked 21 October 2026; it does not approve this local course. Independent language, answer, recording/accessibility and learner reviews remain pending.
Later, choose the word for 10.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
Ten keeps both digits of 10. Zero names only 0.
Later, write the word for 1.
Difficulté 1/5 · 100 pièces + un petit bonus lors de la première réussite aujourd'hui
One names 1. Try before looking back at the list.
