Listen for a detail

Which reason supports home study?

Choose the detail you heard

Show script, meaning, and explanation

我更喜欢在家学习,因为不用坐车。不过,家里有时太吵,所以我会戴耳机。

I prefer studying at home because I do not need transport. Sometimes it is noisy, so I wear headphones.

不用坐车 is the stated advantage; noise is a limitation.

If you use the script, this becomes supported reading. Close the script and replay the recording when you are ready.

我觉得在图书馆学习比较适合我。那里安静,而且有很多书。不过,图书馆晚上八点关门。虽然在家更方便,但是家里有时太吵。所以我通常下午去图书馆,晚上在家复习。

Show English meaning

Studying in the library suits me: it is quiet and has books. It closes at eight, however. Home is more convenient but sometimes noisy. I therefore use the library in the afternoon and review at home in the evening.

Does the writer claim the library is best for everyone?

Show the answer and why

No — 适合我 limits the view to this writer.

Speak with a new detail

Choose home or library study. Give a reason, then let a partner challenge one limitation.

Try without reading. Work with a partner or make a private recording and listen back. Check the message and the response to your partner; pronunciation needs actual speech.

Show one model

我更喜欢图书馆,因为比较安静。不过,晚上关门比较早。

Write and revise

Write a preference with one supporting reason and one limitation.

Show a model and self-review checklist

我觉得在家学习适合我,因为不用坐车。不过家里有时太吵,所以我晚上学习。

  • State whose opinion it is.
  • Give evidence or a reason.
  • Acknowledge a realistic limitation.

Your writing is not uploaded or automatically graded. Several responses may fit the task.

Remember for next time

比较安静 means fairly quiet here. It does not introduce the A 比 B comparison structure.

Tomorrow, recall two words and try the speaking task with a new detail. A few days later, revisit the listening without its script.

Teacher and partner guidance

Model the goal, then let the learner attempt it. Check understanding of the spoken passage with the script hidden. Use the writing checklist to discuss meaning and structure; use actual speech to observe intelligibility and interaction. These public tasks are formative and must not be reused as unseen tests.
