E, B and 377 ohms
- A plane wave: $E \perp B \perp$ the propagation direction, in phase, $B = E/c$. The intrinsic impedance $\eta_{0} = \sqrt{\mu_{0}/\varepsilon_{0}} = 377\ \Omega$; power density $S = E^{2}/\eta_{0}$.

A 100 V/m wave at 1 MHz: $B = 0.333\ \mu$T, $\lambda = 300$ m, $S = 100^{2}/377 = 26.5$ W/m²; the cross-check $E \times H = 100 \times 0.265 = 26.5$ ✓.

Faraday integrates ∂B/∂t to (k/ω)E — same cosine, same phase. The 90° picture belongs to standing waves and near fields.
Skin depth
- In a good conductor the wave decays as $e^{-z/\delta}$ with $\delta = \sqrt{2/\omega\mu\sigma}$: copper at 50 Hz, 9.3 mm; at 1 GHz, 2.1 µm. One number explains shields and surface currents.

δ = √(2/ωµσ) ∝ 1/√f: 9.3 mm at 50 Hz, 9.3 mm/√(2×10⁷) = 2.1 µm at 1 GHz.
