A shorter wait
- A hospital report describes how a new booking system changed patients' waiting time.
- hospital医院through通过new新course流程，made使patient患者(modifier / structural particle)的等待时间to curtail缩短(completed / change)了half一半。 — "Through a new procedure, the hospital cut patients' waiting time by half."
Subject + through通过 + means + made使 + result
- A through通过 B made使 C … = A, by means of B, makes C …: the subject A does the action, through通过 gives the means, made使 the result.
- The subject must be present: hospital医院 / the school学校 / we / us我们 + through通过….
the school学校through通过this这次event活动made使students学生more更confident自信。
The classic error: no subject
- through通过this这次event活动，made使students学生more更confident自信(completed / change)了 has no subject: through通过 and made使 both lack a doer. This is a standard HSK 6 defective sentence病句.
- Fix it by adding a subject before through通过 (the school学校through通过…made使…) or by dropping made使 (through通过this这次event活动，students学生more更confident自信(completed / change)了).
Which sentence is grammatically correct?

The first has no subject. The second has one: 这次讲座 is the subject of 使.
Two correct repairs
- Subject + through通过…made使…: company公司through通过training培训made使the staff's员工improved提高(completed / change)了skills能力。 — "Through training, the company improved its staff's skills."
- through通过…，subject + result: through通过training培训，the staff's员工(modifier / structural particle)的skills能力improved提高(completed / change)了。 — "Through training, the staff's skills improved."
through通过training培训，the staff's员工的skills能力improved提高了。
Repair the error: 通过新流程，使等待时间缩短了。
