Say it back exactly

• In a speaking task, you hear: “I / me我wǒweekend周末zhōu mòoften常常cháng chángand / with和héfriend朋友péng yǒuto go去qùpark (for public recreation)公园gōng yuánto play ball打球dǎ qiú。” You must repeat it.
• Repeating changes meaning easily: dropping often常常cháng cháng or and / with和héfriend朋友péng yǒu loses information. Listen in chunks, not single words.

Repeat in chunks

• Break the sentence into meaning groups: I / me我wǒ / weekend周末zhōu mò / often常常cháng cháng / and / with和héfriend朋友péng yǒu / to go去qùpark (for public recreation)公园gōng yuán / to play ball打球dǎ qiú. Remember the groups, not each syllable.
• Keep the order; time words stay early: weekend周末zhōu mò before the verb.

Describe a picture

• Say who, where and what they are doing, using at / in在zài for actions in progress: 两个liǎng gèchild孩子hái ziat / in在zàipark (for public recreation)公园gōng yuánli, ancient measure of…里lǐ放风筝fàng fēng zhēng。
• Add one more detail you can see: the weather, a colour, how many people.

Answer a question with a reason

• Give a full answer, then a reason: you你nǐto like喜欢xǐ huanwhat什么shén meto move运动yùn dòng？ → I / me我wǒto like喜欢xǐ huanswimming游泳yóu yǒng，because因为yīn wèiswimming游泳yóu yǒngto / towards / correct对duìthe body身体shēn tǐdegree / adjective linker很hěngood好hǎo。
• Two or three connected sentences are better than one word.
