Listen for the detail that changes
- Part 1 of A2 Key Listening: "What time does the film start?" You hear: "It was going to start at 7, but now it starts at half past 7."
- The answer is 7.30. Speakers often mention several times, prices or places — only one answers the question.
The three parts in this lesson
- Part 1: five short dialogues, three pictures each; choose the right picture.
- Part 2: a monologue 独白; write one word, a number, a date or a time in five gaps. Part 3: a longer conversation with five multiple-choice questions.
Read the question before you listen
- Underline what you need: a time, a price, a place, a person. Look at the pictures and think of the words for each.
- In Part 2, predict 预测 the type of answer: "Price: ___" needs a number; "Day: ___" needs a day.
Part 2 gap: "Name of the teacher: Mrs ___". You hear: "Her name is Mrs Bradley — that's B-R-A-D-L-E-Y." Spelled names must be spelled correctly.
You hear: “The film was going to start at 7, but now it starts at half past 7.” When does it start?
