Matching information — locate the requested evidence

Introduced
Handout Watch lesson

The right topic can still be the wrong evidence

  • Outcome: locate a specific reason, example, comparison, condition or qualification across paragraphs, then explain why that location answers the request. Start with Reading orientation and the matching overview if these task names are new. A paragraph about a bowl does not necessarily explain why someone moved it.
  • Matching information asks where this detail or relationship occurs. Matching headings asks for a paragraph’s main contribution; matching features connects information to options such as people or objects. In this focused unit, choose a paragraph letter. This is original local practice, not a full Reading paper or a band prediction.
