A useful situation

- Before you start, recall time words, to go去 for going and weather statements. why为什么 requests a reason; a suggestion and an accepted plan provide different evidence.
我们明天去吧。明天 means tomorrow and 去吧 suggests going. Without a reply, which claim is supported?
Difficulty 1/5 · 100 coins + a small bonus on first completion today
The sentence proposes tomorrow. It does not itself record the other person’s agreement, refusal or permanent availability. Check the reply before treating a suggestion as a confirmed plan.
Words you will use
- why为什么 wèishénme — why. you你why为什么不去？
- because因为 yīnwèi — because. because因为rain下雨(completed / change)了。
- suggestion particle here吧 ba — suggestion particle here. tomorrow明天to go去suggestion particle here吧。
- together一起 yìqǐ — together. we / us我们together一起to go去。

Build the meaning
- why为什么 asks for a reason; because因为 introduces one. A reply should explain the decision rather than repeat it.
- ……suggestion particle here吧 can soften a suggestion: we / us我们tomorrow明天to go去suggestion particle here吧. (completed / change)了 can indicate a new situation in rain下雨(completed / change)了; it is not simply a past-tense marker.
Work through a decision: A says today今天rain下雨(completed / change)了，I / me我not不to go去park (for public recreation)公园 — it has started raining today; I am not going to the park. Asked why为什么, an answer because因为rain下雨(completed / change)了 supplies the reason. I / me我not不to go去park (for public recreation)公园 alone repeats the decision rather than explaining it. A later we / us我们tomorrow明天to go去suggestion particle here吧 proposes a replacement; agreement still needs a reply.
Compare a plausible mistake: rain下雨(completed / change)了 can announce rain starting or a newly relevant rainy situation; (completed / change)了 is not simply an English past-tense ending. we / us我们tomorrow明天to go去suggestion particle here吧 is a suggestion, while good好，tomorrow明天to go去 can accept it in context. Neither establishes tomorrow’s weather.
A suggestion is not a confirmed arrangement until the other person agrees. (completed / change)了 may signal a change, not merely past time.
Complete “Why are you not going?”: 你____不去？

Lack of time is the supplied reason. Repeating not going gives the decision, not its cause. Permanent closure is an invented explanation.

Write a reason for a change of plan and a new suggestion.
Compare the meaning and structure with the checklist. Your own response may differ from the model.
Use Mandarin for the new sentences or dialogue. You may explain your reasoning in English. Create a fictional change-of-plan exchange. Give a reason for not going today, suggest a different day and write a partner’s acceptance or alternative. Then state exactly what is agreed and what remains undecided. Speak both roles or work with a partner.
If you called a proposal confirmed before reading the reply, revise the status. If your reason is just the decision repeated, add the circumstance. Ask for any practical detail the final exchange still lacks.
