Mum asks you to buy something
- Your mother asks you to buy some fruit on the way home. Later you tell a friend what she asked.
- mama妈妈ask让me我to buy买fruit水果。 — "Mum asked me to buy fruit."
A + ask让 + B + action
- ask让 means someone asks, tells or lets another person do something: teacher老师ask让us我们to read a book读书, the teacher asks us to read.
- The person who acts comes straight after ask让, and the action follows: ask让 + me我 + to buy买fruit水果.

ask让 can also mean "let"
- ask让me我to take a look at看看。 — "Let me have a look." The speaker asks for permission or offers to do something.
- he他not不ask让me我go去。 — "He won't let me go." not不 goes before ask让 to say someone does not allow it.

不 goes before 让 to say he does not allow it. 他让我不去 means he told me not to go.

Watch out
- Put the person directly after ask让: mama妈妈ask让me我to buy买, not mama妈妈ask让to buy买me我.
- ask让 reports a request or permission. It does not tell you the action was done: mama妈妈ask让me我to buy买fruit水果 does not mean you have bought it yet.
妈妈让我买水果 tells us that I have already bought the fruit.
