A useful situation
- Your goal: Tell a connected account of a trip or activity.
- Before you start, recall sequence and result expressions, including to find找到, find successfully. Separate what the narrator noticed, what they did and what the account later explains; do not add likely details to a source-based retelling.
我找到了钥匙,然后出门了。找到了钥匙 means found the keys and 然后出门了 then left home. Which fact is established?

The sequence establishes finding before departure. It supplies no thief, neighbour or cause of the earlier difficulty. Retell the stated outcome without inventing an explanation.
Words you will use
- just, adverb刚 gāng — just, adverb. I / me我just, adverb刚to / arrive到rail station车站。
- a moment ago刚才 gāngcái — a moment ago. a moment ago刚才I / me我at / in在rail station车站。
- discover发现 fāxiàn — discover. I / me我discover发现cell phone手机not to see不见(completed / change)了。
- it turns out原来 yuánlái — it turns out. it turns out原来cell phone手机at / in在to cover包li, ancient measure of…里。
- finally终于 zhōngyú — finally. I / me我finally终于to find找到(completed / change)了。

Use the example sentences to check each word’s meaning in context.
Build the meaning
- A recount needs a setting, connected events, and a result. Use time markers so readers know what happened before what.
- just, adverb刚 and a moment ago刚才 differ: just, adverb刚 is an adverb immediately before a verb phrase; a moment ago刚才 is a time expression meaning a moment ago.
Work through a decision: A short account says just, adverb刚to / arrive到classroom教室,I / me我then / just就discover发现book书not to see不见(completed / change)了。afterwards后来at / in在schoolbag书包li, ancient measure of…里to find找到(completed / change)了 — just after reaching the classroom, I noticed my book was missing; later I found it in my schoolbag. Separate arrival, noticing and finding. The final location corrects the initial uncertainty; it does not prove someone moved the book.
Compare a plausible mistake: A source retelling should preserve its evidence and uncertainties. A fictional continuation may add details if you clearly author them as new. just, adverb刚to / arrive到classroom教室 gives the relation to arriving in this example; a sentence using a moment ago刚才 instead would refer to a moment ago, so a time word cannot be swapped without checking the account’s time frame.
Do not add details to a source-based retelling simply because they seem likely. For your own fictional story, make the details consistent.
Complete the time adverb: 我____到车站,就发现手机不见了。

林安先检查口袋,再打开背包,最后在外套里找到了票。检查口袋 means check pockets, 打开背包 open the backpack, 外套 coat and 票 ticket. First separate the search locations from the successful result. Where was the ticket found?

最后在外套里找到了票 gives the successful finding location. Checking or opening other places does not make either the result. A likely travel setting cannot replace the stated coat.
Listen for a fresh detail
- Listen before revealing the script.
- Replay if you need to. This is practice: if playback is unavailable, use the script as reading and return to listening on a device with Mandarin playback.

Yesterday, just after arriving at the station, I noticed my phone was missing. I checked my pockets, then the backpack, and finally found it under a book. I had put it in the wrong place before leaving. After finding it, I caught the train.

Read: 出门前,王力把票放进书里。到车站后,他以为票丢了。打开书,才找到票。票 means ticket. Which retelling preserves the evidence?
難易度 1/5 · 100 コイン + 今日初回完了時に小ボーナス付与
The first sentence states actual placement inside the book. 以为 attributes the later loss belief to Wang Li; opening the book leads to finding it after station arrival. The alternatives either move the finding before departure or invent theft while turning placement into a belief.
Speak, write, and review
- Retell the search without reading. Your partner asks where the phone was and whether the train was missed.
- Record yourself privately or work with a partner. First try without the model, then compare the meaning and structure; a text checker cannot assess your pronunciation.
I / me我just, adverb刚to / arrive到rail station车站then / just就discover发现cell phone手机not to see不见(completed / change)了。afterwards后来at / in在book书to boil noodles下面to find找到(completed / change)了,still / also还to keep up with赶上(completed / change)了train火车。
- Write a short connected account of losing and finding an object. Change the location and outcome.
- Tomorrow, retell a new short account from memory, then check its order and result. Later, compare an initial belief with the final finding. Explain which details were supplied and which you merely expected.

Write a short connected account of losing and finding an object. Change the location and outcome.
Compare the meaning and structure with the checklist. Your own response may differ from the model.
Use Mandarin for the new sentences or dialogue. You may explain your reasoning in English. Write or tell a fictional short journey or activity account with a setting, a problem, two search actions and a stated result. Then give a shorter Mandarin retelling that preserves those facts. Name one explanation or emotional detail you did not supply, instead of filling it in as if it were evidence.
If your summary turns a belief into a fact, identify the belief expression and qualify it. If you supplied a different finding location, return to the result clause. Keep invented continuation separate from source-based retelling.
