Two kinds of nouns

Countable and uncountable nouns
  • Countable nouns can be counted: one book, two books.
  • In an uncountable use, a noun describes a substance or general idea, not separate items: water, music, money. The diagram shows these everyday meanings.
  • This changes which words we use with them.

Your goal: choose a quantity phrase from the noun's meaning, then repair a practical message. Start with articles and A1 singular/plural noun phrases.

I have some homework and much optimism.
