Speaking

Speaking Room

The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.

Card 11 / 16

Part 1 · Shopping

Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.

  1. Do you enjoy shopping?
  2. Do you buy more online or in shops? Why?
  3. What was the last thing you bought for yourself?
  4. Are shops in your area busier than they used to be?

Part 2 · The long turn

Describe a quiet place you like to go.

You should say:

  • where it is
  • how often you go there
  • what you do there
  • and explain why it is important to you

One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.

Part 3 · Discussion

Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.

  1. Is it harder to find quiet places than it used to be?
  2. Does noise affect how well people work?
  3. Should cities have more parks?
  4. Do people need time alone?
