Part 1 · Study and work
Answer the familiar-topic questions directly. Add a relevant detail, reason or example when it helps explain your answer; match the question rather than following a fixed formula.
- What subject are you studying at the moment?
- Why did you choose it?
- What do you find most difficult about it?
- What would you like to do after you finish?
Part 2 · The long turn
Describe a journey you remember.
You should say:
- where you went
- who you went with
- what happened on the way
- and explain why you remember it
One minute to make notes, then a two-minute practice window. The box stays locked during preparation and locks again when the window ends. Typing during this clock does not show how long your answer takes aloud.
Part 3 · Discussion
Discuss the follow-up questions on this theme. Develop the point the question asks for, using reasons, examples or qualifications where relevant; an opposing view is optional.
- Why do people enjoy travelling to new places?
- Has cheap air travel been good for the places people visit?
- Do you think people will travel less in the future?
- Is it better to travel alone or with others?
