Speaking

Speaking Room

The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.

Card 2 / 16

Part 1 · Study and work

Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.

  1. What subject are you studying at the moment?
  2. Why did you choose it?
  3. What do you find most difficult about it?
  4. What would you like to do after you finish?

Part 2 · The long turn

Describe a journey you remember.

You should say:

  • where you went
  • who you went with
  • what happened on the way
  • and explain why you remember it

One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.

Part 3 · Discussion

Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.

  1. Why do people enjoy travelling to new places?
  2. Has cheap air travel been good for the places people visit?
  3. Do you think people will travel less in the future?
  4. Is it better to travel alone or with others?
