Speaking

Speaking Room

The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.

Card 4 / 16

Part 1 · Food and cooking

Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.

  1. What did you have for breakfast this morning?
  2. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out? Why?
  3. Have your eating habits changed in the last few years?
  4. Is there a dish you would like to learn to cook?

Part 2 · The long turn

Describe a building you like.

You should say:

  • where it is
  • what it looks like
  • what it is used for
  • and explain why you like it

One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.

Part 3 · Discussion

Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.

  1. What makes a building beautiful?
  2. Should old buildings be protected even when they are not useful?
  3. How have the buildings in your city changed in the last twenty years?
  4. Do the buildings people live in affect how they feel?
