master; a teacher of a craft or traditional skill
师父 is a master who teaches a craft or traditional skill. 师傅 is often a respectful title for a skilled worker and may also refer to a teacher. Both usually have a neutral second syllable; the characters and relationship matter.
他跟师父学习木工。
tā gēn shī fu xué xí mù gōng。
